THE FOG
Mud in the trench,
Blood on the earth.
All men wish to be back at the hearth.
Thrall to the flash of guns,
Fighting for a country free for their sons.
And the fog came...
A whitish shade
making the place surreal
and reality fade.
And then it was gone.
So was life.
Only the faint tang of gas and a wave of strife.
