I'm Not Like Her

If you should ever read this,
Which I highly doubt you will,
Please forgive me for what
I am about to say.
Maybe you don't want to hear it.
Maybe you don't need to.
But I need to tell you.

Open your eyes.
Take one good long
Look at me.
Snap back to reality.
When are you going to realise
That you can trust and not be
Torn apart.
Remember that it was not
Me who broke you.
No.
For I am nothing like her.
Take my hand.
Baby steps is all I ask of you.
We've all the time in the world.
But for you to heal
The wounds she made,
You're going to have to
Open them first.
Open up.
Trust me.
