Chapter 1.
It all started on one summer night in Eastern Greece; near modern day Turkey. As Helios bid goodbye to the Earth and Nyx said hello, a young Amazonian princess was walking through a small forest. She walked for a minute, and then hid behind a big tree because there was a snow-white pig. A smile graced her (extremely) attractive face as she watched the pig roll around in a mud puddle. Finally, she thought to herself. Something that I can bring back to Hippolyta and the rest of my family. It will last us a few days.
Antiope carefully pulled some arrows out of her goatskin bag and picked up her favorite bow. She sighed and brushed the mud off the bow. Sometimes she really hated mud, although she liked dirt. After the mud was off it, she strung the bow-then she heard a loud noise. Antiope cursed under her breath. The noise had disturbed the pig-and it was barreling straight towards her. Before she knew it, she was lying on the ground and the pig was gone.
"Damn it," she muttered while getting up. "Where did that pig go?"
Antiope scanned the area around her-and then she saw something better than pork. A bush with red berries was in her line of vision. She slowly got up, put her bows and arrows away, and walked towards the berry bush. The smell of fresh berries, mud, and pig poop filled her nostrils. Antiope mentally barfed. The smell was sickening. She wanted to get her beautiful mare Midnight and ride back to camp. But her stomach was begging her to go towards it. She hadn't eaten in awhile. Antiope's nose gave in and her stomach and eyes guided her to the bush.
Once she was in front of the bush, she started to pick the small, red berries. After Antiope was done picking berries, she popped a few of them into her mouth. Multiple flavors exploded on her tongue while she ate them. Even though they tasted amazing, she could tell that there was something wrong with them. They were poisonous. Antiope dropped her basket and started to head towards Midnight. It took awhile for her to get to Midnight because he was ¼ of a mile away.
When she found Midnight, he nayed happily and trotted towards her. Antiope smiled and stroked Midnight's pitch black nuzzle until her stomach started to hurt. She walked over to a big tree and sat down. Her horse nayed in worry. Antiope gave him a thumbs up, but that didn't stop him from naying. Midnight knew that there was something wrong with her-but he couldn't do anything about it. He was just a black Arabian horse with blue eyes as deep as the sea.
Midnight galloped towards Antiope and laid down on the patch of grass. She started to stroke his neck.
"Everything is fine Midnight, everything is a fine." she said while braiding her long, silky, and straight black hair. "Do not worry about me."
They stayed like that until Antiope heard soft voices coming from behind her.
"Are you sure that it is that way?" asked a man while scratching his leg.
Another man nodded his head at him. "Yes, I am sure Hercules!"
Her breath was caught in her throat. Men! She had to go warn her family! What if they were coming to her village! And what was Hercules doing in the forest? Should not he be on Mt. Olympus? Antiope quickly got up and hopped onto Midnight. He let out a protesting nay.
"Sorry," she whispered to him sincerely. "I did not mean to hurt you."
Antiope scanned the surrounding area and sighed a long sigh
Good. There are only 2 of them and they do not have horses. That means that they are slower than I am and cannot catch me. I'll be at home before they will.
She lightly kicked Midnight's side and raced through the dark forest. The only thing that illuminated the forest was the full moon. Antiope glanced behind her and gulped. The men were pointing at her and coming after her.
"Hey! Halt by the power of the Greek Gods!" yelled Hercules. "We need to talk to your Queen!"
Antiope grunted as Midnight ran towards her home. "WHY?" she screamed at the top of her lungs. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?"
The air was filled with silence; although Antiope knew that they were still following her. She cursed under her breath again. Damn boys. Damn damn damn boys. She thought. They are jackasses that think that women were toys. Ha. And I am an olive leaf and they are cute little bunnies. Yeah. Like that's even going to happen. I'm human. They are stupid pigs with an ego bigger than Zeus's! Although I have never met Zeus…
A swinging branch knocked her out of her thoughts. She held a hand over her forehead. It was bleeding. Antiope glared at the branch behind her, and then turned away. She pulled a light blue cloth (or something like that.) and wrapped it around her forehead. Antiope looked behind her again. Hercules and the other man were close behind her. She studied the second man. Antiope hated to admit it, but he was…attractive. His hair was a muddy brown and it looked like his eyes were a dirty brown. But she wasn't sure. It was hard to tell. Antiope was too far away, but she could see that he was totally ripped. Not unrealistically ripped. He probably had a six-pack or an eight pack. She tore her gaze away from the man and sighed. If they caught her, she probably wouldn't be able to escape. They were strong. Yes, she was strong too, but not as strong as they were. If she had to number her muscles according to strength (1 being pathetically weak and 10 having it as a superpower), she would say that she was a 4.5. The second man on her tail was around a 6 or 7. Hercules was probably a 5.5.
She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't tell Midnight to jump over a big, fallen tree. Antiope ended up on the ground, falling on to her butt and scraping her arm on a limb. She bit her lip-and all of a sudden, the men that were chasing her were in front of her. Antiope had no idea how they had gotten to her so quickly. She looked up at Hercules and Man #2 and glared at them.
"What in the name of the Gods do you want?" she snapped at them. "Do not you know that you should treat a princess with respect?"
Hercules bowed at Antiope's dirty and painful feet.
"I am terribly sorry. As you already know, I am Hercules." Hercules said. Then he pointed at Man #2. He is Theseus. And whom might you be, wandering through the forest all alone? Do not you know that it is very dangerous out here alone!"
Antiope nodded. Yes, she knew that the forest was very dangerous, but she was 18 years old. She could handle being in a dangerous forest at night. Besides, she knew how to fight with a sword and shoot a flying bird with her eyes closed.
"I am Antiope, one of the Amazonian Princesses. ", she stated while looking at Theseus, who was staring at her. Antiope forgot what she was about to say and snapped her fingers in front of his face. He was making her uncomfortable. She was not used to men being around and men staring her.
Yes, Antiope knew that everybody thought that she was 'hotter than Aphrodite.'-or something like that. Basically she was a Goddess in her tribe's eyes-with her white and glass smooth skin(well, not anymore considering that she could hit in the head with a branch), 'hypnotic ' brown eyes, flawless straight, jet black hair, 'cute' pink lips,( a) body that any girl would kill for, and dazzling smile. Antiope knew that all of the girl's in her tribe secretly wanted to look as flawless as she did. But she didn't really care and she didn't rub in anyone's faces.
She thought that her beauty was a curse, although she also knew that she had the personality wasp. If someone pissed her off, she was bound to go insane. Like serial killer insane. If they didn't bug her, she was fine. But she was a complete pessimist. Excluding when she was around Midnight.
Antiope loved Midnight to death. He had been her horse since she was a toddler. If something happened either to him…she would cry until she died-or she would just kill herself. She didn't know what Midnight would do if she passed away because he was…odd.
Sometimes Antiope could've sworn that someone cursed him when he was little. As in, he used to be human, but one day he fucked everything up and became a horse somehow. Why did Antiope think that? Midnight acted as if he actually understood her pain. When she had eaten the berries and felt like she was going to faint, it seemed like he was worried. One time her friend, Rhea broke her leg while reading her horse. What did her horse do? He didn't care at all. He was a horse. Horses didn't care about that kind of thing. They were wild animals, for crying out loud.
Anyways, Theseus gave Antiope a confused look.
"What tis wrong?" he asked with his signature smirk. "Am I not allowed to admire your extraordinary beautiful body and face?"
Antiope scoffed. Theseus was in idiot, but something in the back of her mind was screaming-
Get away from him! He's a swine! …But there's something familiar about him! Where do I know him from! Damn it, now I recognize his name-BUT WHO THE HELL IS HE? Why can't I figure out his identity! It's on the tip of my tongue-oh my gods. Now I know who he is. He is that dirty bastard King Theseus. The one that defeated the Minotaur and betrayed a girl who was entranced by his idiocy. A dirty swine that needs to go to hell.
After she figured out his identity, she slapped him as hard as she could. Theseus glared at Antiope and rubbed the spot where she had slapped him. Somehow, he knew that he would still have the bright red mark tomorrow. Theseus grabbed Antiope's wrists in anger. She glared at him and tried to break free of his grip, but he was too strong. Then an idea formed in her head.
"Let go of me!" she snarled through her shiny white teeth. "You have no right!"
Theseus laughed and gave her a sly smile. Oh yes. Antiope was going to be perfect. She would make an excellent Queen. He had to have her. So he pressed his lips against hers. As he kissed her, Antiope wiggled around in his grip. Theseus held her tighter. He was really enjoying it. Theseus could taste berries on her lips. He felt like he was in heaven, above the clouds. Theseus was kissing the prettiest (which was such an understatement in his mind) girl that ever existed. It was perfect-until Antiope rammed her knee into where his sun didn't shine.
