A new beginning

Ashe opened her eyes, her head was banging and her vision was blurred,

"What the heck just happened to me?" she looked up to see the blue sky, fluffy clouds were being blown across it, she was sitting in a meadow of some sort, wild flowers grew in abundance around her.

All that she could remember was that she and Cleo had finally managed to open the portal, but just before they could get through it they had been hit by some sort of shockwave, Cleo had been sent flying through the portal whilst Ashe apparently, had not.

"Where am I?" she asked, no one was there to answer her, everything had changed for Ashe since she had been reborn, when she was a little girl, she and her brother Cleo had spent long afternoons sitting together in the apple tree that grew at the bottom of their garden by the lake, they would talk about nothing in particular but as Ashe grew older she hung onto those precious memories like each one was worth a million jewels.

She decided that sitting down would get her nowhere at all, so grudgingly she pushed herself up, he back groaned in protest, but Ashe managed to get to her feet, she looked around, her pale pink hair blowing back into her eyes.

"I guess that I have to start somewhere" she noted and so she began to walk through the meadow, it seemed never-ending, and maybe it was, because hours later Ashe still hadn't sighted the end of it.

She looked down at her watch, it was a strange timepiece, six golden disks moved around in opposite direction to the disk beside it, twelve different hands moved clockwise but each at different times, it was the watch of a time traveller, and only they could understand it.

"It looks like I've been here for thirteen whole cycles of the Astrone law, and yet I don't seem to have progressed any further in my quest to escape this meadow" she was starting to become worried, she had to find her way back to Cleo, and at some point they would eventually be able to restart the mission given to them by the Time Guardians, it was one of vital importance, and if not completed it could spell disaster for the entire universe and all others beyond it.

"Come on Cleo, where are you? Everything's somewhere, you just got to know where to look for it" Ashe recited her old catchphrase to herself, it was the truth, but now she just had to know where to look for her brother.

"But for a start I am going to have to get out of this meadow" she examined it, everything looked the same, the scenery hadn't changed in the slightest, she looked down at her watch,

"I haven't even got enough time light to teleport out of here, never mind, I'll get out... eventually"
