The wind howled all around me, it seemed as if it also knew what was about to happen and was desperately trying to get away. Seconds passed by as it was about to reach its destination. This wasn't supposed to happen. I got carried away… I messed everything up. Now everything was about to end.
Let me tell you how it all began… it all started on a stormy day one Monday afternoon. I was walking home from my daily scavenging when I was suddenly hit by a unbearably migraine and blacked out. I woke up, or so I thought on a grassy plain surrounded by giant trees. In front of me where 5 tall men/woman. I couldn't tell because they were wearing white robes with golden stripes that covered that faces completely. The one in the middle who appeared to be the leader was wearing a creepy purple hat. I admit I was a little freaked out by those five and I also admit I might have shrieked a bit when the person in the middle started talking. " Lance, we have seen that a great evil is almost upon us. We will need all the help we can get, and we have seen great potential in you." Just by his voice I could tell he was a really old man. His voice was also kind of creepy, he reminded me of my great uncle Renaldo Fish Garcia. Especially now since he seemed to be shaking in rage or something. " ENOUGH" He screamed. " I just told you the world is in danger and we need your help and your busy worrying about my voice?" I could tell he was mad, but that didn't stop my next question. " Who gave you permission to read my mind?" His face looked like a tomato. He obviously wanted to attack me as he started talking again. " Even though we need your help… I don't like you. Take this and I hope to never see you again" with that he threw a piece of paper at me and disappeared.
Then I woke up, for real this time and found myself back at my home. Home for me was a nice cave I found filled with nothing but me, some bats, oxygen, a dirty old mattress, and…rocks. Amazing isn't it? I was an orphan. I did have the option of going to a orphanage but I like to be free. Whenever they (they as in them, them refers to the people who is actually they. Confusing isn't it?) caught me I would just escape the orphanage again. Truthfully I have always been envious of those with a actual family, and I have always disliked snobbish rich morons who thought they were better then everyone and took everything for granted. Anyway when I woke up I wondered for a minute about how I got home. I looked around superstitiously looked around for a bit when the piece of paper caught my attention. I won't bother to describe the paper because who cares about a silly piece of paper? I unfolded it and was barely able to read what it said. I never cared too much about academics. This is what is said, " Lance, the so called dream you had was not a dream. I would have told all this myself personally but I don't like. You may call us the council. I want to admit, but the world needs you. I see potential in you so we have decided that you will be the next guardian. We have given multiple powers that will develop stronger over time. Right now you can only fly and shoot laser beams." I didn't bother reading the rest and instead crumpled up the paper and threw it away. If what that paper said was true, things were going to get fun… too bad I doomed as all when I stopped reading. That was the point when everything started to go wrong.
(authors note) This story won't be completely random like the other stories I have and will actually have a plot. Although I'm not too sure how i will fit the title of the story into the actual story. This is actually based on a story i wrote a few years ago at school. The council used to be the council of cows, but that would be too weird for this story
