Invisible but seen.
"Why Zora mom?" I asked her one day on my way to a psychologist.
"Because in 1998 that was a nice name your father and I picked out." She replied quite disgusted.
I was mad when I found out that I was going to this doctor that was supposed to "help" me. But with what? I was soon to find out.
"Mooooom." I kept nagging her trying for a better answer.
"I already told you the answer now hush."
I sat back in the comfier then usual waiting room chair bored out of my mind. "Zora?" I heard a voice then realized that it was for me.
I sat there in the office nervous out of my mind. He asked me simple questions then he asked this, "What do you see?"
I sat there and thought, and thought. Then I said, "The dead."
I knew that my mom and brother were psychics and my dad and grandpa were both mediums. That was where I figured out everything. But not quite yet. "It takes a special someone to help another special someone." is what my mom always told me. I have always believed her until one particular ghost, my great grandmother. She told me that no one needs to tell another what to do. I figured it all out until this "special" doctor.
"What do you need help with?" he asked.
"I don't need any help at all!" I spat and left the room quite upset.
"Why on earth would you do that!" my mom said in the car on the way home.
"Because mom I couldn't stand him anymore he got on my nerves sooo bad it was horrible Mom! He was trien to tell me how to run my life! I don't need that!"
"You're right. You're right I'm sorry so who are you looking at now?"
I cried asked him a few questions then he told me who killed him, "It was John!"
"No daddy how could John do it?" I exclaimed horridly.
Then with his fingers pretended to slit his neck.
"He butchered you?" I screamed terrified! I startled my mom so bad she swerved barely missing the car in front of us!
We sat there in the car driving down the freeway.
When we got home we found him lying face down on the kitchen floor. Mom and I sat next to him crying. I called my brother and told him he needed to get home right away.
He was home in five minutes which quite frankly is a new record. We all sat there crying when he asked a question we never thought about, "Did anyone call an ambulance?"
We ran to the phone the ambulance was here in less than two minutes. They took him away and we went back to our usual biz.
Our house was empty for a whole month I helped my dad cross over. I think he forgot how to do it! He seemed so confused like he didn't know where he was I was frightened for him, which really I'm not supposed to do as a medium I'm supposed to have equal feelings for each and every spirit I cross over. But this was different.
Once he was gone my mom went ballistic. My brother became uneasy and I couldn't sleep much less sit still.
A week later my mom decided that we needed to go on a family vacation. My brother and I said that we wanted to go to Florida. My mom said that we would do nothing close to Florida so we went to Europe instead.
It was very impressive. I helped a ton of ghosts communicate with the living and find peace. One that I encountered died working on the Eiffel tower.
He was screwing in the side of the tower when his cable came out from under him and he fell three stories. He was describing it and gave me a vision of how it all fell down.
Then when we visited Rome all the gladiators it was atrocious! I couldn't do anything about them wanting to see their families since they were long gone. I just had to tell them that the bright shiny thing was the way to go and be in peace forever.
We were in a hotel when I asked my mom "Have you had any visions while you were here?"
"No," she answered.
"I did" my brother answered. "The worst one was about a gladiator dying from a tiger attack."
"That guy was hard to cross over!" I exclaimed.
"WHY?" my mom yelled.
"Why what mom," I snapped back.
"Why is it that you can never go without talking about our abilities?" she yelled so loud my brother cried.
"Because Rome is the place where the helpless are. They don't know what's going on with people visiting the stadium, the graves, and even sometimes their homes!" I snapped
"Well then there is nothing else to say I'm going to bed good night!"
"Whatever!" I snapped. And that was the last I heard of her that night.
The next morning I woke up to the sun beating down onto my face. It was a magnificent day. I helped no one cross over, it was amazing. Then when we were about to go back to the hotel I woman screamed the word I've hated the most ever since I knew I could talk to and see the dead, "HELP!"
We could all tell that she was in dire need of it. My brother and I ran in the direction it was coming from. When we got there a lady was standing over a man who had been beaten to death. He was still breathing so I couldn't do anything but have the lady call for an ambulance. When the ambulance came so did my mom. And she did not come nicely. "WHY WOULD YOU TAKE OFF LIKE THAT?" She yelled so loud my brother teared up. I held his hand.
"Because that lady clearly needed help!" I answered quite uncontrollably.
"Well I guess this is the part where I give YOU money and I go back to the hotel room without another word to each other." She said without question.
"Fine $200 please."
She gave me the 200 dollars and left with her snout in the air.
The next two days were not any better. My mom became madder and madder. Then one day when my brother and I were instructed to go get breakfast we came home to my mom packing her bags. I asked her, "WHAT THE HECK DO YOU'RE THINK YOURE DOING?"
She replied very calmly, "I am leaving you and your brother here and I am going back home."
"But why we've only been here a week we still have one left, and were going to London the fashion capitol of the world tomorrow!" I asked very reasonably.
"Because you and your brother are better off without me." she said. Then followed up with, "I'm leaving you here for the next two weeks with all the money I ever brought with me on this trip."
She handed me the money which consisted of 1,000 dollars, "Whoa whoa wait your giving me responsibility of watching my brother for a week? And all this money?" I asked kind of worried.
"Yes, and I trust you." she answered. That was when I knew something was wrong.
"Um mom are you feeling okay?" I asked really worried.
"Yeah perfect actually, why"
"Because you would never leave me in charge of my brother, much less 1,000 dollars!" I pointed out.
"Well there is always time to take chances isn't there?" She asked.
Then she was gone.
I woke up the next day with my brother jumping on my bed screaming, "ZORA GET UP!"
"I'm up I'm up" I said. "What time is it?' I asked.
"Seven a.m." he replied with such confidence.
"Okay we have a busy day today so I'm going to take a shower, get dressed, give you a bath, then we will leave for the airport okay?"
"Okay." he answered.
And we did just that in that exact order. And got to the airport in time.
We were on the plain when the food came around we both ate and it was amazing!
"When do we get off?" my brother asked.
"I don't know. Here put these on and watch the movie." I instructed.
"Okay!" He said with so much glee I was worried for him, considering the movie was in French.
Half way there I dozed off and woke right back up to my brother telling me to, "Wake up we just landed."
"What? Hum? Okay, I'm up."
When we walked out of the airport all my brother could say was, "WOW!"
And all I could say was "Close your mouth!"
First thing we did was find a hotel and settle in. Then we went out to eat. I had a beget and my brother had escargot. We both thanked the waitress and left. When we got back to the hotel we both just crashed.
The next morning we went shopping. It was really hard to find the one thing that I just loved! because everything was sooo amazing! My brother though found something right away. It took me at least a full hour before I found the dress. It was beautiful lace with very vibrant colors. It was filled with wonderful blues greens purples and a little pink even. It was perfect.
After shopping we ate dinner. My brother and I had the same thing only because it was the only things we could pronounce. After dinner my brother and I went on a little walk to the hotel instead of taking a cab.
We talked and talked then out of the blue he asked, "Did you hear that?"
"Here what?" I asked
"That woman crying!" He exclaimed.
I tried listening hard. Then I heard this faint woman say, "Help me."
Usually I would go and help this woman but something just didn't feel right about this cry for help. It seemed evil, dark, and mysterious even.
"This is one of those cases where we can do nothing to help someone." I said very assuring.
"But why not?" he asked.
"Because this is not a normal cry for help this is a cry of darkness. It's a cry for some to get helped before they go to the bad place where all the bad souls go. Hell."
I made my point because the next thing he said was, "Oh okay. I'm tired let's go inside now. I'm getting cold."
We both hit the mattresses and fell fast asleep.
The next three days were slow ones. We went to museums, ate, and then went to the hotel. I know what you're thinking, "WHAT! That sounds like so much fun!" well let me tell you it isn't! My brother and I both got bored really fast! We couldn't get on that plane to go home fast enough! When we got home my brother and I did absolutely nothing for the next week! We only went upstairs to our rooms to unpack. We did everything on the couch: sleep, eat, watch TV, we even crossed people over on the couch! (Now let me tell you that is not an easy thing to do!) But we managed through it and finally got unpacked.
In one week school will start back up. And let me tell you I needed clothes A.S.A.P! Most and close to all my clothes were becoming too out of style. So I went shopping. Well my mom and me I should say. I didn't have chore money or work money I had an adult with a credit card and that's all I needed! When we were done I had about 15 different outfits! Best day ever! And yes I did thank my mom.
We were on our way back home when my mom and I both heard this horrible scream that said, "HELP ME! SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME!"
I turned off the radio to see if it was coming from that. But it wasn't we heard it again, "Help."
That's when I realized I knew exactly what it was! It was the sound me and my brother heard in France. I told my mom to keep driving and don't look back. That's when it all started
We didn't make three minutes without hearing it again, "Help."
At this point I turned on the radio to drown out the cry. Don't ever do that!
I knew it was not a normal spirit because when I turned up that radio me and my mom heard this ear piercing scream! She pulled the car over I got out and screamed, "WHAT DO YOU WANT!"
The lady that was crying for help finally showed herself. She was everything you would not expect from a demon.
She was beautiful. Gorgeous in fact! But the worst part about her was her facial features. It was like take one look into her eyes and you will be turned to stone! But she wasn't medusa!
She was draped in a black as nigh dress it was amazing on her! But showed every sign of demented. I said to her, "You need to cross over. Earth is no longer your home!"
She spat at me, "You know nothing about the other side!"
"I know it's where you belong, its where everyone belongs after they pass."
"NO IT ISN'T!"
"Why are you here?" I asked as cool as a cucumber.
"Because my sister needs me."
"No she doesn't , that's just an excuse you use to stay here."
"THAT'S WHAT YOU SAY!" she screamed in my face.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"She is lost without me. Doesn't know which way to turn without my guidance."
"We'll talk about this when I get home!" I said getting in the car a little embarrassed because everyone was staring.
"No I need to talk to you." She told me.
"Well get in," I said. "People are starting to stare." Second worst mistake of my life!
