Let the flood come
On this day, the weather really earned its stripes; roaring it's way into the houses crushing anything in sight with it's claws, the delicate breeze of earlier was no more, it had been angered by the people, retaliating in a way that it only knew how. The drizzling didn't take long to join in, throwing it's weight around-Rain and Gales were hand in hand, dancing over the villages, taking with them peace and serenity, dragging them by the hair.
One could possibly say that the suspects aren't careful to hide their tracks, leaving civilisations left with only Pain and Misery by their sides, patting them soulfully on the back while the people weep upon their shoulders, one ether side.
Pieces of their homes scattered far and wide with not even a roof over their heads to call home. No, that was taken too, leaving just the ground they stand upon- all soaked and un-fertile. And food? Well, let's jut say that Rain did a good job of drowning the crops, holding their roots under until the heads sank to the ground, Gales digging up the corpse and dusting it to the side without a second thought.
Yet, even with Pain and Misery by their sides, the people hide a figure who could not be destroyed, who's large shining eyes lit the candles to which they wave. Hope stands up -small but mighty- casting a hand out to the dull lifeless skys, drawing out the timid sunshine, soaking them with a smile.
"Away with you, Pain and Misery!" he orders, watching their crouching bodies sigh, dragging feet along the damp ground, still looking back with long pointy ears in case there may be someone who needs a shoulder to cry on, someone to leech upon despite being banished.
While the people may have visits from Struggle occasionally, Pains and Misery may slip under the cracks in the newly built doors, Hope will stand tall, even when the time comes when they are once again knocked off balance by Rain and Gales.
Author note: Not really anything in particular, but was inspired by natural disasters and thought it would be cool to personify weather and feelings. :)
