Carah sat in her apartment. She layed on her bed flipping through a magazine. Thoughts ran through her mind like a race car and they wouldn't stop. She made sure the blinds were closed considering it was her fourth night. It was only three in the afternoon and she was bored. The Shadows were not going to be up until another six hours and she had to do something to occupy herself. She tells herself that all of this is just a fantasy and that vampires do not exsist. The things that Nikolai and Carter told about their life was crazy enough and she didn't need more added on. Why didn't Gabe share his story? Carah thought that there was a secret beneath the surface but probably because of his memory loss. Still...Something seemed secret about him and she couldn't figure out what.

Aksinya paced in her room. She wasn't going to sleep because the only thing on her mind was Carah. She grabbed books off of her bookshelf and threw them. She wishes that she could get away for a while but the sun would shatter her like glass. Aksinya was beyond angry but she was confused on exactly why. The idea of Carah and Carter together made her sick, she didn't want to be replaced. She was used to being pushed aside but she wasn't going to let it happen this time.

"Hey...Some of us are trying to sleep. Can you keep it down a little?"

Gabe eaned against her doorway rubbing his eyes. She through a book in his direction not paying any attention. He quickly caught it and snapped his eyes open. What a rude wake up call.

"So uncalled for. Thanks for almost tearing my head of with...The Vampire Diaries. Oh I love these books...why didn't you tell me you had them?"

He opened the book with a smile until pausing. Figures the book would be in Russian and he sighed. He was obsessed with that show for a very unknown reason. Aksinya is the only one that will watch it with him and she called it "Girl Time". He stepped in and set it back on her shelf.

"It wouldn't have happened if you weren't in my room...Go back to sleeping"

"How am I suppose to enjoy my sleep when a psychopath decides to throw books around her room and make the loudest noise ever...I have to look good which means I need sleep"

She rolled her eyes before plopping down on her bed. He looked at her and was confused.

"Well since you are up, I will tell you anyway. Carah is not becoming one of us, I won't allow it. I'll let her get away with anything she wants while she is around and if she does join...I'm out"

"I'm sick of hearing about all this...Wait, What do you mean you're out?"

"I'm leaving. I'm not going to sit around and regret not helping Carah if she does turn. I gotta go if she is here"

"This about Carter at all?"

She shook her head no and looked at him. He watched her carefully knowing that there was a problem. He was not about to be stuck with Carter and Carah by himself.

"Okay...I'm going to go back and get some sleep, We'll talk about this later. I promise and you can tell me whatever is bothering you. Be quiet please"

His kissed her cheek and walked out. Gabe stopped outside the door and listened. He wanted to make sure that she was okay and she wasn't going through a crazy faze. Vampires can get angry enough that their minds will go a crazy faze. The anger comsumes them and can make them do stupid things and that was the last thing he wanted her to do. Gabe watched her get up and pick up books. He was hoping she would do that.

Gabe was zipping up his blue ADIDAS jacket while walking down the stairs. He thought the jackets made him look younger and hotter. The best way to wear them was not to have a shirt underneath that way he couldn't get the jacket bloody. He stumbled on the last step and laughed to himself. Aksinya jumped up from the couch and looked over.

"Don't you know not to sneak up on people Gabriel?"

"Sorry...Did I scare you?"

"Just don't sneak around...Give people heartattacks"

Carter walks downstairs alongside Nikolai. They were talking quietly until they seen the others. The conversation completely stopped and they blinked.

"Hey guys...

Carah stood in the doorway and slowly stepped forward. She gave some form of a warm smile to each of them. She moved over to Aksinya slowly and Carter kept his eyes directly on her. She kicked Aksinya's leg lightly and she lifted her head up.

"Can I talk to you...Privately? Please"

She gave Carah and questioning look and slowly stood. Carter raised an eyebrow wondering what this was all about. He hoped they weren't planning anything behind his back but he knew no one would dare to do that. Aksinya glanced at Nikolai and that's when he knew something had to be going on.

"What is this exactly about?"

"I said privately...Can we do this somewhere else?"

"Yeah...Yeah lets go outside"

Aksinya moves over to the door and grabs her shoes. She slips outside and waits for Carah. Carah looks over at all of them and smiles. She follows Aksinya outside quickly.

"What do you think that was all about?"

Gabe turned his attention to Carter curious on what he was thinking. He took a deep breathe before looking over at him.

"Am I a mind reader? She probably wants to take Aksinya to make her first kill. Easier to have a woman comfort her than one of us"

"Do you honestly think that?"

"It sounded good in my book but I know I am definitly wrong...Anyway let's go to The Scene and wait for them"

Carah and Aksinya were walking along the boardwalk. Every once and awhile they had to stop because they both kept getting stuck in their shoes. They laughed over that fact and it felt nice for both of them. Their minds forgot all the drama that was going on and Aksinya even felt human again.

"Serious note...What did you want to talk about?"

"This whole vampire life thing. I'm afraid to do this. I don't want to give up all of this that I have right now. I'm too young to live forever"

"Peter Pan was young...But I really do not know his whole story. At least you have the choice Carah, I didn't"

"What night am I even on? How long until it fades out"

Aksinya sighed and began backtracking. She hated math all her life and counting backwards was terrible. She counted loudly to herself in Russian and Carah raised an eyebrow. She was interesting on hearing a different language that wasn't English or Spanish.

"Night four. Tomorrow will be very painful because your body wants to to accept the blood. You should be afraid, There isn't a reason not to be. At times I don't even know myself. It can be hard to control the bloodlust.

"So when your fangs like come out, Will it just happen? Isn't that scary?"

"You can control how to use your vampire skills. And they will hurt for a while because they push through your gums...Nikolai had a problem with blood. Sometimes your body will accept the change and blood differently. His genes force him to be out of control. I call him a blood addict. We have to watch him when his kills and he isn't suppose to on his own. He will keep killing and killing if he doesn't control it, And too much blood can make you sick...Take it from me Carah, You don't want this"

She grabbed Carah's hand and takes her into a store parking lot. She ducked down beside a car and Carah did the same. Aksinya points to a female who is approching a silver car a good distance away.

"You see her? She is a hunter"

"She hunts vampires, You mean other people know?"

"Yeah. I haven't really met anyone who is really after us. Her name is Roxy. 23 year old female, from South Beach. Knives and stakes are hidden in her boots"

"Why are we out here watching her?"

Aksinya let go of her hand and quickly ran behind Roxy. Roxy walked around the car and began digging in her trunk. Carah watched slowly but made sure she kept herself down enough. Roxy pulled the keys from her pocket and went to her car. She unaware of everything happening and Aksinya was glad for that. Aksinya turned her reflection on and she caught a glimpse of it in the mirror. Roxy quickly spun around and tried to grab a stake but Aksinya already had her pinned against the car by her throat.

"I will make this quick...I promise"

Aksinya vamped out and bit into her neck as hard as could. She didn't care about the mess and she knew Carah was probably throwing up somewhere. She was hungry and couldn't deny the fact that she was. This wasn't about just killing either. She wanted to show her was it meant to be a monster, A vicious creature in the world.

Carah was leaning over some bushes throwing up. Aksinya kept her distance waiting fo her to be done. She already cleaned herself and the mess up. She picked at her fingernails and Carah slowly lifted her head up. She looked at her.

"Come on...We need to go find the others"

"No...I think I'm going to be sick for the next year"

She grabbed her hand again and began dragging her off. Aksinya drug her into the Scene and looked around for them. She drug her over to the table where they all were sitting.

"What happened here?"

"I showed Carah what it is like to feed...I killed a hunter that was after us"

"Does that mean you chose to be a vampire?"

Nikolai raised an eyebrow and tilted his head to look at Aksinya. She was suppose to preventing her transformation not helping it. Carter smiled at the choice.

"Good for you. You actually decided to choose the right choice. Speaking of, Tomorrow is your last night. Take her to go find someone to kill now. Better for her to make the kill now then wait for tomorrow"

They both stood there surprised. Aksinya glanced at both Nikolai and Gabe. Carah stared at the table facing the facts. She didn't want to turn at all and wasn't planning on it.

"That isn't fair to her Carter. She should get the extra night, You are like cheating death"

"It's only the fourth night. You are breaking the rules. Let her wait until tomorrow"

"What rules? There was never a rule for us. You can turn any single day out of the five...Now Aksinya be a doll and take Carah, would you?"

"No. I don't even understand how you want this whole entire puzzle to work. She doesn't want to be one of us. You are wrecking her human life so let the girl go!"

People began to look over at them and wonder. None of them wanted or needed the attention. Carter glared and Aksinya and lowered his voice.

"Do you want to give us away? She wants this and needs this. Who wouldn't want the chance to live forever"

"Well if she said no anyway you hate the world and blame it on Aksinya. Carter, we all know you would give Carah more blood and then force her to do it"

Carter snapped his head toward Gabe and looked him over. What right did he have to say that to him? Talking back to your maker was not a good thing and Gabe shouldn't have been talking back.

"Let me tell you something. If you don't take her, I will do so much damage to you that you never ever could imagine. I will kill you and you all know that I can do that. Actually Aksinya, Maybe I'll go find Micah and ship you off with him. How does that sound?"

"My offer is still no"

"I will torture you until you die. Stake through the heart, decapitation, bleed you completely dry...I know plenty of ways to hurt someone. What about having Nik back on the addiction and have him suck you dry?"

Aksinya gave him a dirty look before turning away. she called for Carah who slowly followed behind her like a lsot puppy. Gabe and Nikolai look at eachother and don't dare to say a word. Carter turned to them and smirked.
