The breeze is pleasant.
Green leaves and flowers bend and wave.
The reflection of the tree in her eyes
makes me question the rules.
Forbidden, but why?
The red is so lush, so inviting.
Too beautiful to be wrong.
Too beautiful to be right.
Her gaze meets mine,
trusting, loving.
In that moment, I know I'll take it.
I lean in and close my eyes.
I take the plunge
and as my lips meet the soft red flesh
of hers
I am not concerned with right or wrong,
only her, and me, and the space that separates us.
