Years ago when I was ten, I wrote a poem about love. Apparently it was so well written that it got published in some book. I found it today again, and laughed at myself. So here's my response to it now, years later. Rated M for language.

"Born and you are loved
Nurtured because you are loved
The love and laughter is growing
Because your life keeps on going
Love is like an element
Because it brings life."
Hold up young self
What the fuck you talking about?
"born and you are loved" that's shit I'm telling you
Bet you didn't expect the family breaking up
Months after this shit poem
Was all written up?
This poem's a curse
And you don't even know it
As soon as this was published
Life tore into bits.
Friends moved away
Now who're you going to call?
Left all alone now
just facing a wall.
You're trying
I'm dying
I'm crying
I'm sighing
And you didn't even know
Til this shit poem
became a curse and a foe.
Did you expect a fairy tail?
A Happy ending?
Bet you thought happiness was trending?
And I bet you were surprised
to see a bunch of lies
in the family, lies to yourself
heartbreaks, and betrayal,
and even the devil himself.
So ten year old self,
Like what you see?
A depressed, a lonely, all grown-up like me?
I bet not
So shut up about love,
You never understood what it was really like
Until you saw your true face
Your true self-
I'm telling you please quit.
Rip that poem out
Like my ten year old heart-
Cuz your poem?
Is shit.
