it's
autumn, honey
and the dead leaves
keep spinning
around us
a haze
of wood burning
and the skeleton trees
stand in
a row
see
the tin soldiers
the little boy forgets
in his
pocket
like
matchbox cars
that don't go any place
but where they
are told
well, it's
winter, honey
and the snow is
suffocating our
youth
the
air we breathe is
freezing, the words
we speak are
so cold
yet
we break through
the ice and sit by the
fire as
one
we
never thought, no we
never thought we could
ever get
old
it's
time for spring, honey
and oceans are trying
to part
us
the
sun shows her
face and laughs when
the leaves turn green
again
and the
water is crimson
from all the people
who died in
vain
i
dragged my hands through
and my fingers were all stained
red, wonderul
red
it's
summer, honey
a year has passed
since our first
meeting
i
can't say that i've
changed much since
that memory was
made
and
the clouds are mocking us
as they slowly drift farther
and farther
apart
and
the good times we
had are burning away with
the rain, oh, the
rain
it's the
end of summer, honey
you left for your
hometown
already
i got
a letter yesterday,
the envelope a pale
and terrible
blue
it held
the scent of tears, with
the words "I'm sorry"
and a
goodbye
it's
autumn again, honey,
and i am so lost
without
you
