Scrawling letters into other skins,
syllables carved in aching gashes,

ripping wildflowers out of the dirt
to etch metaphors with a jagged nail,

poems traced with the tip of your tongue,
teeth incising every comma's pause,

spraying ideas on a marble wall,
aiming words like poison darts—

I will not write like you.
