She was silent
so no-one ever noticed

She was quiet
so they simply forgot

She faked a smile
to cover up a frown

They never even thought until it was too late..

If only some-one noticed
Her smile never reached her eyes
Her laugh was hollow
Her tear-stained pillows and silent sobs at night

No-one ever realized

'she always seemed so happy'

'she never stopped laughing'

'she constantly had a smile'

'she brightened up the room'

(But she was always dark..)

No-one looked past her (cracked) smile and her (broken) laugh

They never saw it..

(Before it was too late)

then they (finally) noticed…
