Dead in the stare

Of a thousand miles

Monotone zone

Empty blank void

Collapsed and frozen

Occupied last stop

On a dusty staircase

Front door slightly ajar

Papers scattered on hardwood

Light vacant

Slightly blurred with flood gates

Pouring in a rush

No signal, no stop sign

Lies, sneaky, habits, forbidden escapades

Finally tipped its hat

On a balcony view

A night-in

With a surprise

Uninvited audience member

Box office, front-row seats

Distant closure

Non-existent conversations

Heartfelt heartless emotions

A cloud invaded dinner scenery

The finale closing in

Opening night

Curtains drawn

The stage lit

Action

Aggravated insomnia

Words are spoken

Anger ignited

Expressions explode

Looks of denial

Tears creep

Grimace as door slams

Days pass

Hollowed shell

Pain on pain on play repeating

Sudden appearance

Intense gaze

Few words exchanged

Heart in panic

Flat-lines

The gust of yesterday

Still fresh and festers

Numb and cold

A once happy parade

A now barren world
