Memorial Star
Author:
S. A. Arkenburgh PM
On July 31st, 2012, Lisa Marie Crater of Minerva, Ohio passed away at 45 due to a 3-year-long battle with colon cancer, which spread rapidly throughout her body. This poem is about the hard loss and emotions that I felt. This is my first poetry entry, so please, feel free to help me fix anything wrong.

The flowers have faded;

No longer in bloom.

Family and friends cried,

As they left your room.

Your soul is gone,

What's left is a shell.

We all know you went to Heaven,

For you were undeserving of Hell.

The heartache shall fade,

But the memories will stay.

I hope you knew we loved you,

And were fighting with you all the way.

An angel in Heaven,

Is what you are.

We'll miss you, Lisa-

Our bright and shining star.
