Oh, sweet child
Close your wee eyes
And run wild
May your dreams
Be forever vivid and mild

Please, worry no more
I'll take care of you
You are in good hands
Just like brand new

Please, rest your head
Have sweet dreams
Nestled in your bed
Child, sweet child
I love you, I said

Oh, dear Mother
I wish to awake
I wish to be with you
And sit by the lake

Please, hold me tight
And never let go
With all your might
I wish to stay here
And sit in the light

Please, the darkness
Scares me so much
Shadows may devour
And have me for brunch

Oh, dear Mother
Where have you gone
We need each other
To forever protect
And to love one another

Please, I'm so alone
Come back to me soon
The shadows are creeping
Their way under the moon

Please, they're scary
I wish to be with you
And be jolly and merry
To be by the lake
And riding on the ferry

Oh, sweet child
Quickly open your eyes
For I have for you
A rather grand surprise

Get it in your head
Oh, sweet child
For your mother is dead
I gobbled her up soon after
She had sent you to bed

I crawled from the waters
In search of a little lunch
And now that I have you
Your bones give a nice crunch
