Masked Torment (2-6-01)
The girl is so happy,
So cheery,
So bright.
I bet you never knew,
Never knew it was a fake.
The girl wears a mask,
To hide her true feelings.
The girl lives in a world of her own.
She looks at the Earth
Thru eyes of hate,
Of disgust and loathe.
She just doesn’t understand
The people around her.
They act like the world is perfect:
Are they blind?!
They act like their children are safe:
What the hell are they on?!
They think that their planet is safe:
Do they know it isn’t because of them?
She’s disgusted.
Not only by what people think;
But by how they act.
Is one person better than another?
Just because they look nicer?
What about things that count?
Personality, for one?
The girl sits,
Looking at her world.
She wonders why she was born.
She wonders if she alone understands.
nobody else seems too.
But her hate goes further
As she dips into books.
Why,
She wonders,
Do they repeat history?
Horrible history,
They make it worse.
She looks at people owning people,
It’s happened for millions of years,
However it’s supposed to be stopped.
Yet she feels owned.
She has no say in her life.
She’s owned.
That’s why she must wear her mask.
So she can keep it away,
No one must know.
Not a soul.
