Okay maybe I was over exaggerating on "the perfect" plan but it was a plan nothing less. While looking out the wondow I noticed that I was about three stories from the first floor. The good thing was that there was a balcony at every level except ground level, but the worse thing that could happen to me if I drop from the second balcony to the ground, is getting a twisted ankle. I would have to risk it.
Without thinking about it anymore, I ripped the bed sheets into long strips and tied them into a long rope. I made sure the rope was tight enough by tying the rope to the bed posts and leaning backwards towards the floor. My lips turned up into a snark smile as the rope held on tightly to the pull of my weight.
Next I untied the rope and retied it on to a leg of a dresser near the window. My heart was beating fiercly against my chest as I started to lean out of the window; repelling down the wall to the second floor balcony.
My feet lightly tapped the brick wall over and over again as I unsteadily made my way down to the ground. Suddenly, voices came from the window that was right below my feet and I came to a uncordinated stop right there.
"Micheal, why don't you head upstairs and check on my daughter," I heard Mr. Allen say in a calm commanding voice.
Oh shit! I was so close, the rope had run out. It looked as if I had to jump from the second floor balcony to the ground. I tightened my grip on the rope and looked down. My mind was screaming at me to jump, but my stomach lurged at the thought. I knew that I did not have much time to make a decision, so I just shut my eyes tight and jumped.
It felt like hours as I fell to the ground, and I curled my arms around my head to protect it from the impact of the cold hard dirt. THUD! The impact probably was louder in my ears than it actually was, but I cannot take the chance to lay there and wait to see if they heard or not.
I shakily stood. Luckily my legs didn't hurt but my left shoulder and rib cage did not make it out of the fall unscathed. I hissed in pain and grabbed my shoulder. Yeah, it is definately dislocated, but nevermind that...I have to run. For at that very moment I heard a yell come from my luxury cage.
Within twenty paces I hastily made my way into the thick leaved forest surrounding the huge house.
About two minutes later, I heard shoutes coming from behind me. My feet pounded faster into the earth as I made my way through the forest. I pumped my legs to go faster while my ribs screamed in pain for me to stop. I was coughing and gasping fo breath; I held my dislocated shoulder as I ran. The pain is something you would usually think to make you slower, but no, it just informed me of how far I made it so far.
"BARK!" SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! Now they had dogs. I had to find a stream fast, maybe that could confuse the dogs that had my scent. It usually did on TV shows. Okay, it was not the time for jokes.
Suddenly, I heard a small splash coming from not far ahead to my right. I carried myself as fast as my legs could go to the stream.
I skidded to a halt on the ledge that led to the stream below. As my eyes skimmed it I noticed it was larger than I expected. I could hear the shouts and barks coming closer, my heart thudded violently in my chest. Just like the situation with the balcony, I did not have much time. The worst thing about this discision was that I could not swim.
It was either risk death, or stay at that house without knowing what will be done with me. Right now death sounded better.
With my eyes shut tightly, and breath held, I dived into the freezing water below. But then I suddenly wondered, what made the splash?
I kicked my way to the surface and gasped as my head made it's way to the air. The water was freezing, and the strong current was carrying me down stream. I had to get to the other side fast, or they might find me. My legs kicked as I struggled to keep myself above the water.
All of a sudden, I felt something slither through my legs. I nearly screamed, but only let out a small whimper. My mind kept screaming SNAKE! But I kept telling myself that it was just weeds or something, anything other than snakes.
My hope for staying afloat came to a sudden halt, as I felt something wrap itself around my leg and pull me under. My screams were muffled by the water as I dug my nails into the slimy scales that held me under. I struggled as much as I could but I was losing my breath every second. Just as I was about to just give into the vicious snake. I felt a hand wrap around my injured arm and pull me from the snake's grasp.
Just before my tired eyes closed in exhaustion they met the most beautiful, sparkling, dark blue eyes.
