I'm up there on the stage... with stagefright! In front of every type of person you can imagine. Elderly, young, middle aged; all waiting to hear my voice that seems to have gotten lost on the way to my mouth... HELP!

My mouth is motionless,
Unable to say the words I so desperately need to speak
I… I St..stu…stutter
Barely chocking out the syllables
A flash of concern is shown through faces in the crowd,
Whilst others chuckle at my paralysed vocal cords
An awkward silence fills the air,
Then a cough, one cough and the whole rooms ablaze with chatter,
I'm stood still,
Standing on the stage completely forgotten,
Then I'm gone,
Away from the watchful eyes of the crowd,
Away from the humiliation of my disabled voice box
Away from the flashing lights of the cameras,
I'm hidden behind the curtains
Where I can finally speak my lines
