Sleep deprivation. It's sharp, clear, twisted, bright, just brilliant. It's like the world is too bright, too clear, an overcharged pair of glasses. The world is a clear shiny thing, glinting in and out of focus, a rough cut crystal. Your eyelids are frozen open, the only thing keeping them there is pure adrenaline and an excess of caffeine. Eyes are ice cubes, dizzily spinning in a fresh glass of water. Sometimes the world twists around so bright, too hard to focus, too clear to see the murky truths. But other times, the world just clicks into place for a few minutes; every cloud has turned away to give a clear shot to the sun.

Spinning around in a whole different world than the rest of these fish. Seeing a sense of clarity that the rest of the world is oblivious to as they all huddle in their fur-lined robes. Dance as a snowflake, shiver the whole time, but freeze in place until the ground stops the world from lurching so many directions. The snowflake drifts gently, the world so bright in the sunlit haze.

In a sleep induced warmth, cuddled too tightly to see the cold truth. Rest clouds judgement, impairs sight. There's no chance of seeing any truth in life in the heat of the moment. But a cold clarity, that allows sight for miles and days across.
Embrace the cold insomnia, allowing all truth to seep through. Don't succumb to the heated welcome of sleep's calming arms. Go instead to the bright, twisted, sharp, clear snow of sleep deprivation.
