This is just fantastic! Jake could not get the door to close all the way, and one of the hinges had been shot off. Back door! Rushing through the house as quietly as he can, he find the back door is well blocked off. Looking through the window he could see a nice sized pile of corpses built up on the other side. Taking deep breaths, Jake starts trying to climb through the broken window before he was found. "Gah!" Jake managed to get out, but not without several painful cuts on his hands and left calf. Almost as if on que, the zombie group starting moaning joyfuly for they had heard food and began to go to the back of the house to find it. Jake began running to the woods, only 200 feet away. However, as soon as he started he stopped and changed directions. He could see clearly the woods out back were riddled with zombies. Jake sprinted for the apple tree in Rob's yard, and immediately began climbing. climbing so fast that he was practically flying, his only thought was Thank God I am safe for now! Undead began gathering around the base of the tree, and proceeded to wait Jake out. My only hope is to not be seen for long enough that they forget I am here.

Several hours passed, Jake suffered in the mid-afternoon heat. Looking down, still no sign that they were going to leave any time soon. I wonder if I set the house on fire, would that attract them? Or at least distract them? So jake cut his handkerchief into strips and tied one of those strips to the end of his first arrow. I will wait till its dark first, that way it will be harder to ignore. With only 7 arrows, jake was not overly keen on wasting any. But, if he had to he knew he could make more, given time. God, I wish I had taken Rob's offer for extra practice. Well, too late to worry about that now. I know I can hit the house. But Jake's bigger concern, was if the cloth would stay lit long enough to set... anything ablaze. As jake ate the main part of his MRE, veggie omelet, he put the matches in his shirt pocket and put away the rest of the meal. As dusk began to fall, he shifted to a limb with a better view of the house. He set the cloth on fire, hoping it stays lit long enough. Jake didn't pull his arrow as far back as normal, hoping to reduce the chance of extinguishing the flame, and let loose his arrow. With a surprise, his arrow flew straight into the kitchen window, striking the cubbard just above the stove. Jake hoped that the built up grease would catch and spread fast. After waiting for a few worried moments, he saw light and smoke emanating from the house. However, the zombies seemed to not care about the light and sound of a house burning, they stayed steadfast to the tree. Waiting for their prey to descend.

Smoke began o fill the air, as the flame engulfed the small house, jake began to experience difficulty breathing. I can't fall.. no I can't fall.. Jake began to feel dizzy, and woozy. Out of the blue he heard a loud CRASH and felt the tree shake, knocking him out of the branches and down about 15 feet to the ground on top of a blue Ford Taurus, breaking his left leg on impact as he shouted "SON OF A BITCH!". Just a split second later, the car backed up swirving, crashing into the brick mailbox throwing Jake off the roof of the car into the street. Fortunately for Jake, most of the zombies were around the tree, which the driver of the blue car proceeded to smash into again before stumbling out of his car.

"Dustin! DUSTIN!"

"Whachyar doin over in the schreet? Jakey, JACK!"

"JAKE, and my leg! Broke it on your car roof"

"what are you do on my car roofing?"

Goddamn it... "Dustin, GET ME OUT OF HERE!"

In his state, I dont think he will be helping anyone. Zombies began to make their way, only half remained from before. The fire spread far now, the lawn and car was now on fire. "Shfine, Lets goet goin, before the liquor is all gone."

"Dustin, we need to go AWAY from teh city not TOWARD it, help me splint this and help me walk, we gotta find a car, SOMETHING!"

"booz first, rioter second, and TJen we get homes."

"Dustin, Dustin, Zombies." with a confused look, dustin turned around. It was formerly a woman, long blood soaked hair, missing her left eye and half her jaw, dried blood all over her blouse and skirt, a chunk of flesh missing from her left thigh. "Jumping Jahosaphat!" Dustin screamed as he proceeded to punch and kick the creature to the ground and smashed her head in repeatedly.

"DUSTIN, LOOK AROUND YOU" Dustin could now see, he was doomed if he were to stay and fight. "DONT WORRY JAKE ILL GET US OUT OF HERE ONE WAY OR ANOTHER OR MY NAME ISNT...AAAH!" a small child tore a chink out of his leg, a man ripped into his shoulder, and another took him to the ground. "AAH! HELP OH GOD HELP AHH!..." while dustin was screaming, Jake decided it was his one and only opportunity to get out of there. Crawling as fast as he could, he made it to an abandoned car that was just on the other side of the road, and was fortunate in the instance that it was not locked. Climbing in, he closed then locked the door and began fumbling for anything he could use to splint his leg.

With a stroke of luck, Jake found a broken umbrella and about 20 feet of rope. Taking his time, while dustin made his last scream, he finished splinting his leg, and made extra sure the doors were locked. If only Dustin wasnt being a fool, How could I have thought I would have been able to work with him to get a plan to survive this crap. I shoulda known he'd be drunk off his backside. But at least I am out of that tree! And should be at least somewhat safe here for the night. It did not take long for him to pass out sprawled across the back seat of the white SUV.

Hours passed, how many Jake was not sure. Awakened by a loud thud on the back of the truck, he peeked over the seat to see his friend dustin, torn and bloodied with he same dead look in his eyes and face as the rest of the crowed. Keeping his head down, Jake decided it was time to try to get back to town and hit up the clinic. Crawling out as quietly as humanly possible, and with great pain making it to the wood line without being detected. It took Jake only a moment to find a suitable stick for a crutch, and began hobbling his way to town. Slowly making his way through the woods along the main road, he was glad to see that the giant hord had mostly dispersed and scattered to where unknown. With some difficulty, Jake made it to the clinic in town. Peering in it seemed clear to enter.

I HATE MY LIFE!

The second his foot went through the door, it was grabbed by a zombie wearing a hospital gown. Without hesitation, Jake put all his weight on his good leg and swung hard into the side of the creatures head, just in time to notice six more coming from behind the counter. All this for some pain-killers and antibiotics... I am out of here! As he turned around, he heard out of the edge of his hearing what sounded like whimpering. Damn, could be some one alive. Turning back around the zombies at this point had reached the lobby, and Jake had no choice. He grabbed some of the chairs and tossed them on top of the row in front of him, and to the side making it difficult for his enemies to climb over that way, trying to funnel them. Two of which started making their way around, so he prepared his makeshift crutch and took swing one, topping the larger fellow to the ground. stumbling slightly, he swing and number 2, sending half its skull and brain halfway across the floor. Hopping forward on one leg, he finished the big guy off and turned to the four trying to push through the chairs. By the time one of them made it over, jake had already finished the other three. Exhausted, fatigued, and now slightly dizzy jake was able to finish the last of them by the skin of his teeth.

Now for the survivor. "Hello? Anyone there?" a few seconds later he heard the bathroom door open. A young man with fear across his face wearing a nurses uniform stepped out, cautiously. "You took them out by yourself?"

"yeah, I need help!"

"Don't we all?"

"My leg, I have been hobling on it since last night using this crutch, fell out of a tree onto a car."

"lets get you to the back, away from the doors in case more come. I am not a doctor, they got eaten. I was on a prolonged restroom trip when the madness started, when I emerged I found out what was happening and I locked myself in. I am Trevor, by the way."

"Jake."

"Alright, sit in that room, I am going to fire up the emergency genny so we can get us some x-ray photos of that leg."

"No, bad idea. Too much noise, we will attract half the town to a feast of you and me."

"well, I can try to set it without x-rays, but just a warning I only just got my RN 4 months ago so no promises. I'll get you some morphine first, then I will see what we have left for anti biotic."

A few moments later, and a sizeable dose of Morphine later, Trevor began attempting to set Jake's leg.
