Scattered hearts hide thoughts,

Scattered minds hide what's in our hearts,

Love can't live off what you're feeding it,

Minds can't know when they can't feel it.

What I say is not what I mean,

And what you see isn't how it seems,

You're standing on a balance beam,

And the only thing to hold on to is me.

I tried to look at you,

but all I saw was darkness,

but when I try to look away, who knew

I'd feel so heartless.

I'm sure you've heard it all before,

But have you been ignored?

Why is my heart tuning me out,

just to listen to all the doubt?

Our feelings are hidden by the trees,

Blocking what we need to see,

But I've seen the worst darkness,

So it doesn't matter to me.

Silence unbreakable, quiet unshattered,

When to you has that ever mattered?

Leave me the cold shoulder,

take the blanket and roll over.

You think there's a war,

a bedtime battleground,

That's just your imagination as it soars,

and it doesn't want to touch the ground.

Tell me what I'm doing, to knock you off balance,

I want to end all this teetering madness,

So let the love in, to know what you're thinking,

Or keep it out, and keep on sinking.

Say what you think, think what you need,

But love only needs one seed,

So lets plant them sooner rather than late,

So we can grow the love and kill the hate.
