HELLO! THIS IS MY FIRST-EVER STORY AND I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!

Prologue

There are many mystical, unexplainable, supernatural, magical or - well whatever you want to call it – phenomena that have bamboozled human beings for millennia. Well, humans are just so curious that they want to poke their noses into every little thing!

If all of us had minded our own businesses (?), then we would still be barbarians.

But I (that is, the author) have noticed that people want to be safe and secure in life. We don't want to take unnecessary risks that might hurt us. But we don't want monotonous lives either. We want adventures and thrills, but our own lives are just so perfect that we don't want to do anything.

All of us are like that (don't lie!). And so is our dear protagonist.

Almodine Alewndrina Carter's life was in every sense – Perfect. Perfect with a capital P. She had everything – looks, intelligence, family, friends, happiness and all those things which you crave. But, fate thinks that she need not be that happy and drags her into a completely different place, where nothing is normal.

Almodine Alewndrina Carter was a normal sixteen year old girl. Except that she was good looking. So good looking that everyone automatically assumed that she had a perfect life. Well, it seems that people nowadays are so shallow, that they believe that good looks equal to a perfect life. Anyway, this one time, their guess was true.

Yes, Almodine had the perfect life that everyone dreams about. She stood first in class, she was witty, she was charming, she was… you name it and she had it.

With her hip-length curly, jet-black hair and transculent skin, she managed to charm everyone. Her large black eyes were always curious with a streak of mischief in them. Her sweet round nose reminded everyone of fruits – though no one knew why. And her full pink lips were always pulled up in a crooked smile – which assured everyone that she was planning something vicious.

Almodine Alewndrina Carter hated her name. Her first name meant 'precious stone' and her middle name meant 'defender of man'. It sure was a horrible combination. She was thankful that her last name was somewhat normal. She hated it when someone called her Almodine. So she was usually Dina or Al.

Anyway, like all perfect protagonists, Dina also had a group of besties.

Gregory Andrew Duncan was her best guy friend. He had golden blond hair that fell into his light green eyes and made him look like Prince Charming. Everyone automatically assumed that Dina and Greg were dating. Thankfully, this time the general public was completely wrong! Greg was a friend to Almodine – nothing less nothing more. And Greg felt the same way about her too.

Her best girl friend was Brianna Eolande Williamson. Like Almodine, Brianna hated her middle name. She had been unfortunate enough to get a middle name which meant 'purple'. And Greg never stopped teasing her about this. Brianna was good-looking too. She had waist length curly, black hair and black eyes which seemed to hold tears upto the rim. She was Almodine's moral support and the bane of their enemies existence, because, torturing your enemies is fun!

Next came Martin Arthur Schmidt – the group's source of sentiment and angst. Martin was the most good looking boy in town. With his white-blond hair and light-grey eyes, it was easy for him to be 'HOT'. Unfortunately, he seemed blissfully unaware of this fact and remained 'senti'. He loved writing poems and stories which always had tragic endings. Of course, Almodine and Brianna loved them.

The last member of their awesome group was Jason Harvey Fuller – the cutest nerd in the whole world. His light-brown hair was always long and almost hid his large brown eyes. For some reason, he wore purple framed glasses and usually had his nose buried in a book. And he was also a very good singer. Since Almodine was a good singer too (remember? She is perfect?) both of them where paired together for singing.

Well, there you go. Almodine's group is the most perfect group in the whole world and nothing could separate them – except a teeny-weeny little thing called Fate.

And when Fate intervened, Almodine was thrust into a mystical world - from which there is no return.

WELL, HOW WAS IT? IF YOU LIKED IT, THEN PLEASE REVIEW. AND IF YOU DID NOT LIKE IT, THEN PLEASE TELL ME WHERE SHOULD I IMPROVE? AFTER ALL, THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT!
