The Angels of the Past
{By Rose Diamund}
As the darkness sets
As the sun subsides
The moments break in two
She feels her soul crumble insides
The storm set in slowly
The lightning flashes bright
Her mind goes blank
As she stares into the night
That girl with bright smile
That girl with the laugh
Now trapped as a shadow
Of the Angels of the past
Remembering only pains her
As she recalls the past
And she sees her old self
And the stingings last
That girl with bright smile
That girl with the laugh
Now trapped as a shadow
Of the Angels of the past
The light now is unfeeling
It burns and it hates
Only memories haunt
And she stands in its wake
She stands on the sidelines
She will never forgive
She closes her eyes
And lives the half-life she now lives
That girl with bright smile
That girl with the laugh
Now trapped as a shadow
Of the Angels of the past
The Angels surrounded
By horror and despair
Trapped behind the shadows
Watching happiness, stare
That girl with bright smile
That girl with the laugh
Now trapped as a shadow
Of the Angels of the past
