Feel the pressure
The voices all around you
Keeping you from hearing your own
Feel their concern, their judgment
Maybe anger
Maybe love
Who can tell anymore?
Voices, too many voices
Too much noise, too many words
All you want is to breathe
To feel the freedom you once felt here
Away from their grasp
At last
No contact, please
No unwanted opinions
No advices I didn't ask for
You will never understand
I don't belong there anymore
"No pressure"
The more they say it, the harder it is to believe
They will never know how much you care
They will never see why you can't be there
Guilt
You can see it now, you can almost feel it
Their eyes upon you
Their thoughts incriminating you
As if they knew everything
They don't know it, at all
No contact, please
I love you, so much
But I need that time
You will never understand
I can not cross that line
Your reasons are yours alone
Revealing them would reveal too much
They don't know you're terrified
They don't know you were sick before
They don't know this place healed you
These people made it all better
The balance you found is still too fragile
Any shake, any movement, and it will shatter
How can you be someone's strength
How can you be the ray of light
When being away is what keeps you strong
Makes you happy, eases your mind
Their words make you nervous
Full of truths you're not ready to hear
Full of facts you're not ready to face
You were always the perfect one in their eyes
But in this moment you're falling from grace
They don't see you, they never will
It's easier to believe in what they know
Than digging deeper and finding the truth
They don't know the first thing about you
No contact, please
Don't write and don't call
Let me go, leave me be
Why can't you understand
What this is doing to me
Stop the voices now
You crave silence like never before
You can't go back now
Whatever you give, they will need more
And they'll never know you've never been more free
You've never felt more like yourself
Than when you're here
Alone
Away from their opinions
Away from their vision
Away from their grasp
At last.
