Chapter One: Death and His Kids
My name was the most normal name out of my whole family. My name was Persephone.
I had three older half brothers, each with a different mother and each with a stranger name. But we shared the same father, which might have been our down fall.
My oldest older brother was named Dracul, which was a variation of Dracula, which was dads all time favourite book. His mother was named Age, even though she was one of the youngest, loveliest creatures I had ever set eyes on.
Next came my brother Cerberus, whom we called Cerb for short. His name meant Demon Of The Pitt because he dragged himself out of his mother when his mother was too ill to give birth to him. His mother was called Illness. She, as you could probably guess, was frail and pasty, constantly ill but with the patience of a saint, which I suppose she'd need being the mother of Cerb.
Lastly came my brother Lucifer, who's mother was called War. The strongest, toughest women you'd ever meet in your life who had all the wisdom of a wise woman and the determination of a solider. I think she was my favourite of my 'aunts'.
I was my fathers youngest child and only daughter. My mother was not one of the three my father was destined to have children with. In fact, my parents were suppose to have never of met before. My mother's name was Ambrosia, which meant immortal. Not exactly my dads favourite person. But you get whiny about your job and you have a couple of drinks and the person you hate starts to look real inviting.
Nine months later you have a daughter you love with a woman you hate.
Maybe I've not made it clear to you who my dad is. Maybe my full name will give you a clue.
My name is Persephone Miriam Grief Darthe.
And my dad's Death.
