I watch from my place
High in the night sky
As travelers far below
Are gathering nigh.

Already peace he brings
Travelers from afar
Both shepherds and kings
Following the same star

What would have gone through their minds
On that cold winter night
If they had realized
That child's eminent plight?

I hear from my place
Up high in the sky
Mourners in the night
Bidding him goodbye

The world in unrest
Nothing seems right
But they never guessed
There is no end to light

I observe from my place
High in the same sky
The world at its wits end
Tears of agony they cry

The child born that night
Whom many thought to be dead
Is truly blessed light
What the many evils dread

He restores the world to its glory
To all the glory there be
This world's entire life story
Oh what a sight to see!

I watch from my place
High in the final night sky
Fleeing from the world, no longer needed
To heaven the people fly!
