Stalking Darkness

The night worked its way through the woods,

Leaving the crumbling world behind,

The creature was starving for goods,

And this wasn't the gold kind.

Stalking through the bushes,

No trail in sight,

Until the sunray pushes,

Away the night.

No one knows this darkness,

The creature is to wily to be seen,

Like a game of dirty chess,

The pawns are shiny and unclean.

The night does not care,

It waits 'till the hunt is done,

And peace falls from the quiet.

The day knows not of this danger,

But the night is always watching,

So , when you meet a stranger,

Remember this warning,

So no more resting easy,

No more nights of rest,

If you think the night is safe,

You'll be hunted by the best.
