A curious man drives downtown through a city, amazed by all the sights and lights he encounters, including the pink sequined dawn. Written in 2008. Still struggling with mental illness, but writing was getting better.

This was written in 2008. Month I've written this is unknown, but possibly around November.
Skies heavenly pink
Lights casting off
Making it seem as if it's
Dawn
Black and pink and purple and white
These colors blend into the night sky
As I roll down my car window and feel
The wind
Blowing across my
Face
It feels cold
Chilly
Haunting as I stare into the sky
The car lights are on
Glowing green
Red
Yellow
The street lights reflect this
Go
Slow down
Stop
I wonder why at night
Every time I look at this sky
I feel
Empty
As if the vastness
Makes me reflect
How foreboding it all seems
The lights flicker off
Click
And I am casted off
Into the black
And I see nothing, anymore
