An attempt at using metered language. It's a short sort of descriptive idea that wraps up a lot of ideas in a single image. Completely up to interpretation if the reader wants.

NOTES: This was a homework assignment working with pentameter and tetrameter and the like. So, there are five segments of this homework that I liked and fixed up. I warn you now; for the sake of creativity and substance I totally flubbed the meter. Some of the lines will have that dum-dee-dum-dee-dum rhythm… others… not so much. I've also chopped up the lines. This is the last group of practice homework that I really enjoyed.

Rain
I dreamt of rain—gray slate colored type rain
Pouring, plunging, regretful tears still cold
On virgin cheeks and lips numbed by pain
Sort of rain—if the truthful truth be told.
