A/N: I wanted to structure my poetry a little differently, in a series of haikus. I think it turned out well!

I've learned to be as
Cutting and merciless as
Your knife in my heart

My eyes have become
As restless as the ocean;
Difficult to calm

My mind, a desert,
Vast, hauntingly beautiful
But not for your eyes

The sky is filled
With things we would have done but
Unlike a river-

Coursing steadily
To its destination, we
Fell victim to drought

So I lift my gaze
To calmly watch you burn in
The eye of my sun
