Hey, I know its been a long time but I've been caught up with stuff, but here we go next chapter
We had made it to the gym without being eaten; we were standing in the equipment room where everything was kept (obviously). Noah closed the door after everyone had got in.
"Right, so we have hockey sticks, cricket bats, baseball bats and rounder's bats. Take your pick!" Noah had taken up the role of leader of the group, which I'm not complaining about; he was probably the most stable of us all and Chris after him. Noah and Chris had picked a baseball bat, I went for a hockey stick, just because I was the best at hockey, I'm not bragging either I won an award for it and everything, so I was quite good at handling a hockey stick, Lucy grabbed a cricket bat and Mel grabbed a rounder's bat.
"Now what do we do?" Mel asked.
"Now we find a car and get to the community centre." Noah said pacing.
"Where are we going get a car from though?" Lucy asked raising her eyebrows.
"There's the school van outside, you know the one they take the sport clubs to them events." Chris said, waving the baseball bat around.
"That means we have to go outside though, for all we know now there could be millions of those..Those.. Those..-" I started to speak but didn't want to say the word, but Mel did.
"Zombies?"
"Don't say that!" I shouted at her.
"Ali!" Noah shouted at me, obviously sticking up for his girlfriend. "Just stop panicking, you need to face the fact that they are-"
"Noah I swear if you say that word, heads will be rolling." I threatened, lifting up my hockey stick to show that I wasn't joking. Noah gave me a death glare.
"Okay I think we all need to calm down, falling out isn't going to help us in this situation. Now Ali, I understand that it's hard for you to accept it, hell it's hard for us all to but the sooner we do accept that there are zombies out there the better we'll all be at surviving this." Lucy said, calming everyone down. She looked at Noah, "Okay, so we know that the school van is outside, but we don't have the keys for it and we don't know where they are."
"Babe, there's something you don't know about me. I hotwire like a pro." Chris said putting his arms around Lucy.
"Where'd you learn that?"
"Dad caught me." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Oh.."
"So I guess we have to go now then huh?" I asked, not really wanting to though.
"Yep, I guess so. Come on." Noah went to open the door, but a thought popped into my head.
"Wait!"
"What now Ali?" He asked frustrated.
"Do we know if these zombies can run or not?" I had seen in movies where zombies can run, and they were fast! I may have been good at hockey but when it came to running without a stick, I just sucked.
"Nope, only one way to find out. Just make sure we've got each other's backs okay?" Noah went out first, he looked both ways before giving us the all clear to go out as well. I know we were in a serious, life threatening situation but I felt like a fourth wheel, Lucy and Chris had each other's backs and Mel and Noah had each other's backs, leaving me to watch my own back! We got to the front office without any trouble, from the office we could see the van/truck clearly.
"Are there any out there?" Mel asked peeking out the window.
"I can't see any, but that doesn't mean they're not out there. Here's how it's going happen, me and Chris are going out there, get in the van and start it up, we'll give you three the signal when you can come out. Understand?" We nodded and watched them as they ran out to the van and smashed the window.
"Uh guys?" Mel said sounding nervous.
"What?" We both answered.
"Can we like get out of this place?"
"Why?" I asked turning around, but then I saw the reason. Out of nowhere there were at least 20 of those… things staggering up the hall way towards us. We screamed and legged it outside, only to find another 10 coming down from the field. "Noah, Chris can you guys like hurry the hell up!?"
"Why what's wrong?" Noah asked turning around to look at us, but then saw the heard of those… Zombies! "Fuck! Chris hurry up man, girls get in the van!" He shouted, sliding open the door to let us in the back.
"I'm trying!" Chris rushed as the zombies got closer and closer to the van. You could hear them moaning as they start to slowly get up the sides of the van. But then Chris finally connected the right wires and sped of up the lane leaving the zombies in dust.
"Oh thank god! Lucy said slouching down in one of the seats.
"That was a close one, good job Chris." Noah sat down in the front passenger seat as he tapped Chris on the shoulder.
"Right, guess it's off to the community centre." Off to the community centre where there could be more zombies, we hadn't spoken to Heath, Tyler or Shane within an hour and we had no idea where about they were in the actual centre, it was a big place!
Okay, Just gone 3 pages on word! I hope you guys like it, remember to leave a review
