The leaves fall
Freedom falls
Control is not mine
Afraid to climb a mountain
Because it's wider than tall
Which means I've got a longer way to go
To slip and not to fall
What if I can't make it to the other side?
What if I fall not even halfway up?
The slope isn't what I'm worried about
It's the steps I take to the top
Just one mistake and I'm gone
Fallen from the heavens and into the snow
Where cold will envelop me
In a numbing state of mind
Perhaps it would be good to fall
For once I can do what I want
But that's before the leaves fall
And then I'm back under their control
