Again a poem that deals with a broken relation, a betrayal, something that promised much but turned out to be a nightmare.

WINGS OF DARKNESS
Don't leave me behind
Restless and dry
It's written in blood
We shall surrender or die.
There's no light in the distance
I'm lost and confused,
Your chains have been broken
And the darkness broke loose.
I gave you my word
Keep what I held dear
I was free like a bird
But then you locked me in fear
You shone like a star
When our paths first crossed
Now you've dragged me so far
That I count it all as lost
Your wings have embraced me in the darkest place
I don't remember; Was it heaven or hell?
You brought me to a whole new space
Where light is captured and shadows dwell
I should have seen that you fed on the lies
Knowledge is power, you say without breath
But how could I see when your wings blind my eyes?
Who shall live when knowledge was death?
