The Two of Us

She is she,
And I am I.
Two different souls
On different sides
Of the same glass.
I see her and
She is crying
I feel her pain
Yet I am smiling.
She is wasting
Where there's too much of me.
Stare into her eyes
There's nothing to see.
For I have hope
Where she has none.
… I can lie about
Things I've done.
To everyone, that is,
Except me.
Alas:
She is I, and I am she.
