Chapter 1

Castiel awoke from his faint slumber, His vision was blurry. He was still trapped in his cell at the laboratory. He then heard footsteps coming closer. His cell door opened and there stood Dr. Kanou.

"It's time to come out, Castiel." Dr. Kanou said with a smirk. Castiel just stared.

"What's with the cold stare? Aren't you happy to finally be out of this cell?" He asked.

Castiel tried to talk, but his mouth was sealed by the neck of his straitjacket. "Ah. I need to remove this to see your beautiful fangs." Dr. Kanou said as he unstrapped the buckle and pulled the neck of the straitjacket down. "Why don't we undo the rest of the buckles and let you have your freedom for a while?" Dr. Kanou continued undoing the buckles. Castiel moved his feet for the first time. He stepped out of the cell and instantly fell to the ground. "Need some help?" Kanou offered.

Castiel looked up at him. He managed to lift his arm and grab Kanou's hand. Kanou helped him up, and slowly walked with Castiel. Castiel's legs shook each time he put his feet on the floor. Castiel stopped.

"Hm?" Kanou gave Castiel a confused look. Castiel stared at a man standing in front of him. The man had long bluish-black hair that covered one eye. "I…Inu…" Castiel managed to say.

"It's been a long time, Bloody Rose." Inu said.

"You're in the way, Inu. Move." Dr. Kanou ordered. Inu frowned, then stepped out of the way and watched as Castiel and Kanou walked around.

"Good afternoon, Dr. Kanou" A stern woman said as she bowed and gave her respects to Kanou. "Good afternoon, Tsuyo." They walked away from the woman. Dr. Kanou turned to Castiel, "I will be right back, behave yourself while I let the others out." Kanou turned away from Castiel and walked into another room.

Castiel looked around, as he did; he saw an extra gun lying on Tsuyo's desk. He clumsily walked over there and picked the gun up. He examined the gun. He pointed the gun towards a wall, and held it there. He then turned around and walked towards one of the officers. The officer flinched as Castiel put the gun to the man's head.

"W-What are you doing?! Put that down! You don't know how to use it!" The officer demanded. Castiel pulled the trigger, and stood there as the man's blood splattered on his face. He then heard a laugh. He turned around to see Inu standing there.

"Very nice! You didn't hesitate to shoot him, did you?" Inu came up to Castiel and patted his back. Castiel stared at Inu. Inu's smile faded away as soon as he seen the look on Castiel's face.

"Oi, what's wrong?" Inu asked.

"I don't know…" Castiel said.

"Well, just to let you know, you need to hurry up and get your ass out of here before Kanou gets-"Inu tried to say before he was interrupted by Kanou.

"Castiel?! What did you do?!" Kanou angrily said. Castiel stood there. Tsuyo had her gun ready to fire. Kanou slowly approached Castiel. Castiel lifted the gun and pointed it at Kanou.

"Heh. You think you can actually get away with this?" Kanou said.

"Bloody Rose, make a run for it. I'll cover ya." Inu said as he walked in front of Castiel and extended his arms out to the side. Castiel didn't know how to run, but he began walking towards the exit.

"Get out of the way, Inu! Tsuyo won't hesitate to shoot you!" Kanou warned Inu. Inu smirked. Tsuyo fired her gun. Inu fell to the floor. Castiel finally made it out of the doors. He walked into an alley way. He made it the other side of the alley way. He turned and looked back at the laboratory.

"Inu…" Castiel whispered.

Fumiko sighed.

"What's wrong, Fumiko?" Haruko asked.

"I'm tired of being called Haruko…" Fumiko said angrily.

"Well, we are twins. So, we can't help it that we look exactly alike." Haruko said.

"I know that! But, you're the more energetic one!" Fumiko complained. Haruko shook her head and sighed.

"Haruko!" A voice called from behind them. They turned around and seen a boy running up to them. The boy was panting. "I've been trying to find you all day!" the boy said.

Haruko looked down. "I'm sorry, Kisa. I've been busy." She said. Kisa looked up. He immediately blushed.

"What's wrong?" Haruko asked.

"Ah! N-nothing…" Kisa stuttered. "I just—"

"Looked at her breasts?" Fumiko interrupted.

"No! I—"Kisa tried to say.

"It's okay, Kisa." Haruko said. "Well, let's hurry up and get to home." Fumiko said. The three of them headed to home. "Ah man! At least it's not a school day tomorrow!" Fumiko said as she stretched. Haruko agreed by nodding her head. They walked by an old building and alley way. Haruko stopped.

"Hm?" Fumiko turned around. Haruko stared into the dark alley way. "What's wrong?" Fumiko asked.

"Nothing" Haruko said flatly as she slowly turned her head away from the alley way. She continued to walk. Fumiko stared at her with concern.

Castiel continued to walk through alleys. He looked at the sky. The sun is finally setting. He thought. He fell down, and started to pant. So…tired…Castiel closed his eyes. Memories began to flood his mind.

Castiel heard footsteps coming toward him. "Hm?" Castiel turned around and looked up. A young boy with bluish-black hair stared at him. "I have food. If you want some." The boy said. "Follow me." He said.

"I…I can't" Castiel said. The boy stopped. "Why not?" He said as he turned around. "I…don't know how to get there…" He continued. The boy looked at him and started to laugh. Castiel looked confused. "You mean you don't know how to walk? The old man hasn't taught you yet?" The boy laughed. Castiel looked down. The boy stopped laughing. "I'll bring it to you." The boy said as he walked off. Minutes later, the boy returned with two bowls. He sat down next to Castiel. "Here" He handed Castiel a bowl.

The bowl had a red liquid in it. "Human blood is delicious, isn't it?" The boy said. Castiel nodded. "My name is Kurai, but my code name is Inu. What's yours?" Kurai asked. "Castiel…

"Oh! Your Bloody Rose! The old man always talks about you!" Kurai said.

"He…He does?" Castiel asked. "He won't shut up!" Always talking about how you never cause any trouble like I do, and how you're going to be one of the best vampires." Kurai said. "Oh…. I see…" Castiel said quietly…

"I told 'em that you're going to betray everyone in the future. He told me to shut my mouth." Kurai went on. "Kurai?" Castiel said.

"Hm?"

"Do you…like pain?" He asked.

Kurai just stared. "Why do you ask?"

"Well…how did you get the eye patch?"

"Well, weren't you watching? Kanou tested to see if we could feel pain." Kurai said.

"I know that…but you weren't screaming in pain. You were…moaning in pleasure..." Castiel went on.

"Ah…that. Well, to me, pain feels good. I don't know why, but it does." Kurai said.

Castiel awoke from his dream. Damn memories…He slowly got up and started off into the streets. It's finally night.

Haruko munched on a candy bar on the bed while Fumiko was getting out of the shower.

"Shouldn't you be studying rather than eating a candy bar?" Fumiko asked. Haruko didn't answer.

"Fine" Fumiko said as she got dressed. What's up with her? She's been acting weird ever since we passed that alley way. We've always went by it on our way to-and from school. What's so different about it now? Fumiko wondered. Haruko went into her own room, and Fumiko got in bed. She closed her eyes and went to bed. She woke up to a shaking. "Fumiko! Fumiko!" Haruko repeated.

"What?!" Fumiko angrily said. "There's a boy outside!" Haruko said. "And?" Fumiko asked.

"Well…he looks really tired and he has blood on him!" Haruko continued. "Blood?" Fumiko repeated. "Come on!" Haruko insisted. They both quietly went downstairs, and out the door. There on the street was lying a boy. Blood on his face and his clothes were dirty. "I wonder what happen!" Haruko whispered. Fumiko walked closer. "He has such an odd color of hair!" Haruko said as she tried to keep quiet.

"Who cares about his hair? Look! He has…fangs!" Fumiko said as she backed away from the boy. "Fangs?!" Haruko yelped. Fumiko slapped her. "Would you shut up? You'll wake mom and dad up!" Fumiko whispered angrily. "What should we do with him?" Haruko asked. "I don't know." Fumiko said. Fumiko slowly went back up to the body and touched it. The boy then instantly moved and both Haruko and Fumiko jumped. "He…he's alive!" Haruko shouted. The boy slowly lifted himself up. He looked at Haruko and Fumiko. "Um…Are you okay?" Fumiko asked. He nodded. "But…your face! It's covered with blood!" Haruko tried to keep quiet. "Let's take him inside before anybody sees us out here." Fumiko ordered. They took him inside and cleaned him up.

"See? You had some bruises and scratches!" Haruko pointed out. "So, what's your name?" Fumiko asked. "Castiel." He answered.

"Castiel? My name is Fumiko and this is Haruko." Fumiko introduced. "What part of Tokyo did you come from?" Haruko asked.

"Laboratory…" Castiel said.

"Laboratory? Your from…a laboratory?" Fumiko said with doubt.

"Inu…" Castiel said under his breath.

"Inu? Who's Inu?" Haruko asked.

"Okay, that's enough. Hey, why don't you get some sleep?" Fumiko said.

Castiel looked up. "You can sleep here. I'll sleep on the floor." Fumiko said nicely.

Castiel sat there and watched Fumiko go to bed. I don't want to go to bed. If I do…I'll think about him…It will only make me want to go back to the laboratory. If I do that. I'll definitely be put back into a cell.

Castiel sat there and watched as the sun began to rise.
