Little turtle
Little turtle sitting on the rock
Sitting in sunshine you don't want to block
After a while you take a dip in the lake
But that's only if you could wake
Sleepy for so very long
Waking is something you want to prolong
Your hard, pretty shell glistening in the sun
On your rock you're the only one
Eating little grasses that comes your way
On your little rock on which you lay
The warm lake is your own little pool
But to your sun-baked skin the water's cool
You look so peaceful resting there
I can't help but stop and stare
To achieve such peace is but a dream
You're a little hopeful beam
