Sugary moonrain and starry, starry nights
Lulling the world to sleep with your broken grin
Dusk is something containable
Like a firefly in a clear jar
When I was with you my hair fell all the way down my back

Dusk is something containable
The sugary moonlight like an inflamed eyeball
When I was with you my hair fell all the way down my back
And I kissed you with starry, starry nights overhead

The sugary moonlight like an inflamed eyeball
You said: Don't roll your eyes at me
And I kissed you with starry, starry nights overhead
I haven't spoken to you in two years

You said: Don't roll your eyes at me
And I forgot how to curl my tongue into speech
I haven't spoken to you in two years
But the same moon is overhead

And I forgot how to curl my tongue into speech
Like a firefly in a clear jar
But the same moon is overhead
Lulling the world to sleep with your broken grin
