Ch13: Frenemy
Rose's POV
"Rose, I wasn't expecting you to drop by,"
"Shut up and drive boy… cause your car isn't the only thing I wanna ride," my dangerous yellow eyes gleamed as I pushed past Declan who was holding the door open, I could hear him gulp and his heart beating fast. Oh yeah did he want to do all sorts of things to me tonight, and I was happy to deliver them.
"Are- are you sure? I- I mean last time I saw you, well you were with this random guy and well…" I put a finger to his lips which made him lost for words,
"You talk too much, I have other things in mind which involves your mouth," I paused for effect and a small giggle, "and I don't want you wasting your energy talking." Throwing my arms around his neck I pulled him down onto his living room couch, so he was on top, all I needed to do was look into his blue wondrous eyes and he'd do anything I asked of him.
It was hot, really hot, but neither of us gave in, he wanted me and I wanted him way too much, and if I did this… we could be together forever, no matter what. I flipped him over so I took control, sloppily kissing his tight abs and moving up to his chest, reaching his neck I found my ears burning with lust to bite someone again. Biting Alice had given me a thrill, and biting Declan would give me more than that. The razor sharpness of my fangs grazed his shoulder, so close to his jugular. I nuzzled his neck as I prepared to give him the ultimate bite…
Only that ultimate bite never came.
I recognized the beautiful gorgeous sent of her perfume, but I couldn't believe it really was her.
With ease Alice threw me across the room, I crashed into the wall, lucky that I didn't go through the wall. Where had all Alice's strength came from? She was as delicate as a Wattle Flower; well actually that depended on what mood she was in. I leapt to my feet fully expecting Alice to come at me with her claws out ready to attack, but she had no claws, she didn't even have the trade-mark werewolf facial hair, she seemed perfectly normal... Only her teeth...
I could literally see the saliva dripping off her two razor sharp fangs, they didn't at all look like werewolf fangs, they looked almost vampire, but she didn't meet all the criteria to be a vampire. The look in those cunning green eyes told me she very much wanted to kill me, or hurt me at least. We danced around Declan's lounge room for what seemed like ages; throwing a punch here and there which we either dodged or deflected. To be honest I didn't once throw a punch, I was more on the defensive side, scared to death that I would hurt her if I did go offensive; But Alice on the other hand, she was all for KOing me.
Becoming impatient with my speed and reflexes Alice decides to attack, with every fibre in her body contributing to the harsh blows she was about to lay. The first swing hit me in the face, with a surprising amount of force; I doubled back, barely prepared for the next punch. This time though my werewolf instincts kicked in and I dodged her, she stumbled forward, surprised by my reflexes, that delay was all I needed to find a weak point. Her torso was left unprotected so I launched myself at her, tackling her to the ground. My move was so unexpected that she was helpless as I drove her to the ground. The effort I'd made in restraining her was so poor that Alice was able to knee me in the stomach and gain all the control necessary to dominate the fight.
For the first time since becoming a werewolf I felt helpless, Alice had out-strengthened me and had her elbows pressed against my throat, I choked and spluttered, every time I moved the force on my throat would increase. She loosened her hold and used one arm as she spoke tauntingly,
"Werewolf blood is the most purest and delicious blood to drink- so I've heard." she laughed as my yellow eyes widened, "And I've always wanted to try it. Rose I'm sure you got a thrill out of biting me, but let me tell you, a bite from me is so wondrous, so invigorating, that you'll be begging me for another. Don't be shy, I don't bite... Hard."
I began to silently panic as Alice lowered her head to where my neck was, she brushed my hair away and tilted my neck so she could do a clean job of biting. Maybe I was wrong, maybe she was a vampire.
Before her fangs had barely grazed my neck, I dared to whisper, "Alice,"
"Mm," she responded. The distraction was all I needed, in one quick motion I chopped her arm from underneath her, which was supporting her upright, then flipped her over. She snarled at me baring her frighteningly sharp fangs as I pinned her to the tiled floor, restraining her by gripping onto her upper arms.
"Alice stop!" I yelled as she attempted to fight me off, "Alice this is not you!" she tried to knee me again, only I moved my leg in a position to block her off completely, "This isn't you!" I repeated, "You're not like this, you're my best friend, you don't know what you're doing. Just calm down," again she snarled at me. I shoved her harder this time and growled, my eyes lit up practically glowing yellow, "Alice stop," I barely recognized my own voice, and by the way Alice snapped out of her killing spree as if she had come out of a trance, I knew she was surprised by the powerful harshness in my tone.
Moments past before I decided it was safe to lower down my defences, I helped her up. She cupped her hand over her mouth as she saw the damage she'd inflicted on me, "Rose, I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you, I swear I-" I cut her off,
"It's ok in a couple of minutes I'll heal anyway,"
"What happened? I don't understand, all of a sudden I felt I needed to kill you," I didn't have her psychic powers but I knew by her expression that she was terrified at the thought seconds ago she wanted to kill someone, that someone being me.
"I-I think the full moon sent you out of control," she just stared at me, unable to believe my words, "To keep you alive I did bite you,"
"But for me to be like you I have to of been bitten by and Alpha," Although Alice argued, through our psychic bond she knew what I was getting at. Luc had said it in our last encounter, which I was an Alpha, an Alpha of my own pack, and that could possibly mean she was a werewolf, only she wasn't a werewolf. All plans of telling Alice my theory that she wasn't a werewolf was interrupted as Declan appeared from behind a door.
"What the bloody hell just happened?!" Oops I'd completely forgotten about Declan,
"Um Dec uh-"
"Declan something happened which you are going to forget and never speak or think about ever again, also Rose has dumped you. Go to bed and forget you saw us tonight. Goodnight." And with that Alice stalked away, dragging me by my arm with her new supernatural strength. I was gobsmacked, I didn't even know what she did to Declan, it was almost like mind control, only freakier because my best friend, who I thought I knew like the back of my hand has become an unknown evil-creature-of-the-night.
