California. Las Vegas. Anywhere but home. That's where I want to go.

At approximately 11:39pm, I begin gathering necessities for the road. I get some clothes, food, a hairbrush, contact case and solution, and food. I throw them all in my ratty duffel bag. I sit on my bed, still thinking I forgot something. Oh right, toothbrush.

I get up and get my toothbrush, toothpaste, and some floss. I then hear the door open.

Shit! He wasn't supposed to be home until after I left! I think as I see my brother walk through the front door, clearly drunk. He stumbles upstairs as I rush into my room, push my duffel under the bed, and climb under the covers, pretending to be asleep. I hold my breathe as he walks past my room and collapses into his. I sigh in relief as the door to his room slams, and his music begins blasting.

I grab my duffel, and slowly make my way out of my room and down the old creaky stairs. I open the back door, close it quietly, and walk into the night, into the woods. Then, I find a road and begin walking along it.

"Maybe I should've driven." I say to myself. "No, the license plate would give away too much information. And I don't have gas money."

I pull out a map, and look at the road. I hadn't really planned this far ahead…..bad move on my part. But I follow the road, and turn left. I hear a car, so I lay down on the grass, hoping they don't see me.

The car drives away like nothing is wrong, and I continue walking down street. I walk for hours, before I sit down on the side of the road and start munching on an apple.

This isn't so bad. I think to myself, hoping I didn't just jinx is. I start walking again.

Gotta keep moving. I got a long road ahead.

This is shorter than I planned, but I figured something is better than nothing.

Please review! Thanks!
