The Boy with the Red Bag

His name rolls off my tongue,

But I'm afraid to say it.

His face occupies every inch of my mind,

But I'm afraid to see it.

His bag is big and red,

Like my heart,

Like the blood pulsing through my veins,

The red on my cheeks.

Like the glow on the inside of my eyelids,

When I stare at the sun,

When I stare at him,

Bright, blinding red.

Red, the colour of love and life,

The colour of the love of my life,

The boy with the red bag.
