I came up with the idea for this story a few days ago, based off of a part of a dream. This is the one of the first stories I've written seriously so any feedback is appreciated. -Mika

I was curled up in the corner whimpering in pain as flashing images seared through my mind.

A fountain, spraying blood.
A boy hurt, bleeding, fighting against an unseen opponent.

I longed to run to help him. The visions faded for a moment, then returned in full force. Tears streamed down my face as thousands of scenes flashed seemingly in front of my eyes, though I knew that I was the only one that could see them. Strange places, green skies, red water. Mostly though, they were of the boy. It felt like we were destined to meet again, even though I was sure I had never seen him in real life. On the other hand, he had visited me in my dreams ever since I could remember. I grew up with him in my mind. I still remember the first time I saw him in my dreams when I was four years old. Even now, the only thing that I could remember about him were his golden eyes.

I was wearing a long white dress, standing in a field of long grass and flowers, blown over by the wind, which whipped my hair in my face. I turned at a noise to see a boy that looked about the same age as me. Who are you? I asked, stepping towards him. He smiled, and shook his head. C'mon, tell me your name! I pleaded, making puppy eyes at him. He looked at me and burst into laughter. I'm sorry. I can't tell you. He said as the laughter subsided. Don't worry though. You'll find out eventually. His golden eyes looked into my grey ones as he vanished and I was left alone with only the wind rustling the grass.

I opened my eyes and the visions were over. I wiped my eyes with the purple blanket I clutched to my chest. It was a bit tattered from years of use. It had been a present to me on my first birthday and I'd never left it since. It'd been nearly fourteen years since then, with my birthday coming up in three days from now. The visions had started about three months ago and got much worse in the past week. Before that, it was only vivid dreams. So far though, I had managed to hide them from my mom, because she'd probably think that I was going insane.

"Sky?" Mom called. I wiped the last bit of moisture off of my face and replied. "Yes? What is it?"
"Dinner's ready. Wash your hands, then come down." I walked to the bathroom and washed my hands, splashing some water on my face, then drying off. I hopped down the stairs, feeling refreshed. "What's for dinner?" I asked, my stomach growling.
"Pasta, nothing fancy." she said, setting the plate down in front of me. I picked up my fork and dug in. The food quickly disappeared as I chowed down on it. I finished and put my dishes in the sink. "Your face is covered in sauce! You even managed to get it in your hair." Mom said, smiling.

I ran upstairs to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. My long brown hair had little specks of pasta in it. I groaned, wiping them out with a tissue. I took a look at my face. Pasta sauce was smeared all around my nose and mouth, making me look like I had just finished a lovely meal of raw animal. I made a face as I wiped my mouth with a wet cloth. Suddenly, a searing pain ripped through my body as another vision appeared.

A large woman getting closer, a horrible feeling of danger.

I struggled to hold back a scream as I flung out a hand, longing for it to stop. The pain and terror seemed to rush through my arm and out of my hand. CRASH. A tinkling noise. I opened my eyes to see the glass that my mom used for mouthwash had shattered. What? Why is...? Did I do that? I heard footsteps rushing up the stairs and my mom burst into the room. "What happened? Are you alright?" she asked hurriedly "I'm alright, just a bit spooked. I knocked it over by accident and was surprised, that's all." I said. She told me that I should go to bed and that she'd clean it up.

I shut the door to my bedroom and leaned back on it. What was that? Was it just my imagination? Must be. I refused to consider the alternative. I changed into my pajamas and walked towards my bed.

Suddenly—A hand reaching towards me.
A reassuring woman's voice-It will be alright, soon. Everything
will make sense.
Four figures, one of them the the woman.
Power.
Four weapons, adapting to a persons soul.
The boy fighting, a girl with the powers of living creatures, another boy with the power to heal and destroy.
And a different girl, in the back, with golden, seemingly white hair and piercing blue eyes, ringed with gold. Her power, to—

The images overwhelmed me and I blacked out as my legs gave way and I crashed to the floor.

I hope you like it :) All feedback is appreciated. I'll get the next chapter up soon
