Chapter 1 – The Problem with Beautiful Girls is that they always get all the Attention

Its one peaceful morning and students of Airine Redpine Academy are all walking on their way to their classrooms. At the hallway, there are a lot of students greeting each other good morning, chatting with each other before the bell rings. Everything in the school seems normal during this morning but somewhere in the school something big is happening this early in the morning.

Outside Room 402, where the students of Class 4-A are located, there is a boy and a girl in the middle of the crowd of students. What is happening?

"Uhhmm… Karasawa-san… Uhhmmm… please listen to me for a while," the guy said while facing the girl. The guy seems to be nervous but he's enduring the pressure while some students around him are looking and talking about the current scenario.

"Uhhh W-who are you? Uhhh… w-what do you want?" the girl replied with a confused expression. She already had something in her mind of what the guy is going to do but she's just waiting for it.

The guy paused for a few seconds. He bow down and took a few breaths before saying what he wants to express. After a big hard breath, he rose up his head and shouts to the girl.

"Karasawa-san! I like you! PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME!" the guy shouted a big confession that all the students, even the ones inside the classroom, heard. After that, the talks became louder and everyone is waiting to what is going to happen next….

The girl wasn't able to say a single word but at the look on her face, she doesn't seem to be surprised.

Oh great another one fell for me. Is what the girl said. This girl is Airine Redpine Academy's most popular campus crush and she's none other than Karasawa Kuromi, a transfer student of Class 4-A. She has a long silver hair that extends up to her shoulders, blue eyes, fair white skin, and she wears a hairclip on the right side of her hair. Because of her natural beauty, most of the guys in the school are falling over her and news about her quickly spread. She was just about to go inside their classroom when the guy before her, appeared and suddenly confessed to her.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?! She shouted in her mind while her face is already having an irritated expression. This is the everyday life of Kuromi at their school. Everyday, a guy asks her to go out. There is no day that a guy never tried to get near to her. She's being followed by stalkers, she always receives love letters and guys are always looking at her. This makes the other girls feel insecure at her. Because of this, she couldn't have a worthwhile high school life and she doesn't have a single male friend.

"U-uhh.. Sorry but I can't. I'm not into dating actually. Sorry," as always, she rejects the guy. This has become a daily routine to her. A guy tries to ask her out then she rejects it. She doesn't like this but it's happening everyday.

After hearing the rejection, the crowd's noise grew even louder. Some are laughing at the guy and some are praising him for his bravery to try and catch the prettiest girl in the campus. The guy was speechless for a while, probably due to the shock of rejection.

"Can't you give me a chance? I'll do everything just for you to accept me!" The guy asked desperately. He's not easily letting Kuromi off the hook.

Damn this guy is persistent! Kuromi is already pissed. What should I do to get this guy away already? Can't he understand what I said?

"Uhhh…. I need to go to my class now. Again sorry but I can't," Kuromi said, hoping that it will work to escape this scene already. She started walking towards their classroom but then she was blocked by the guy. Damn it let me go already! Kuromi is already mad but she just can't show this to avoid creating a ruckus. She wouldn't want to make news around school.

The guy, gasping, talked, "I'm not giving up yet unless you give me a proper answer. Please Karasawa-san give me a chance!" the guy then tried to grab Kuromi's hands but before he can do it, someone from the crowd quickly entered the scene and gave the guy a punch in the stomach that made him kneel down on the floor.

The guy screamed in pain, "Who are you?" the guy screamed angrily then he look at the one who punched him and he started to get scared after seeing the face of that person. It was Airine Redpine's Student Council president, Kusunoki Arisa. She has a long brown hair, green eyes and wearing a headband with a simple design of red ribbons on both ends. She is one of Kuromi's classmate and also her childhood friend as well as her best friend.

"Hey you bastard," Arisa said to the guy while waving on her hair. "Making a big scene this early in the morning huh? Do you know what you just did? Public indecency and that is a major offense. You know what will happen right? If you want me to spare you, get out of here now!" Arisa's voice and look was so scary that the guy couldn't even respond and ran away of fright. This is what Arisa always do, protecting Kuromi since the day that her best friend transferred to their school. Arisa really cares for Kuromi that she just won't allow anyone to hit on her and because of her position as a president, she gained the respect of the students and no one has even tried to defy her because of her strict application of the rules in school.

Arisa then looked around the crowd. "What are you people looking at? Go to your classes now!" Arisa ordered to the students. The students quickly followed the president's order and the crowd disappeared in a few seconds. Arisa then turned back to Kuromi who was just standing behind her. "Are you alright Kuromi? Did that idiot do anything bad to you?"

"Ah yes I'm totally fine. Thanks for saving me again Arisa." Kuromi thanked Arisa. Arisa is currently the only friend of Kuromi at their school.

"Don't worry about it! It's my duty as a friend to protect you from people like that! Anyway let's go inside our classroom now. Class will start shortly," Arisa gratefully said and they then entered their classroom.

Class 4-A is probably the only safest place for Kuromi in the whole school. Because in this class, no guy is interested in her for they are already used to her appearance though Kuromi has a hard time socializing with boys because they easily falls on her when she tries to talk to them so she doesn't have any male friends at her class. She somehow regrets having such a face that sometimes she would wish that she was born with an ugly face. If other girls want to be popular, she's the opposite. All she wants was to have a worthwhile school life without any problems.

After a long class, lunch break started. At the last seat near the window, Kuromi sits while having a lunch with Arisa who is just seated in front of her.

"Arisa, what did I do to deserve this? I transferred here, expecting that I wouldn't experience being chased around and there it goes again. Why? Why?" Kuromi said sobbing while chewing some rice on her mouth.

"Well, you're pretty that's why," Arisa straightly answered Kuromi.

"Yeah sure and thanks to this pretty face, I don't have a great school life. It's like this look is a curse to me. It's like an ability that has a consequences or anything like that. It's not like I don't want to be known but this is just too much. It's not like I wanted to be pretty at all. Why?" Kuromi kept on ranting. She can only open this up to Arisa since Arisa is the only person she can trust.

"Not sure if you're acting tsundere or what with that 'It's not like' line of yours but anyway, it's not your fault. Don't blame yourself for it and don't curse that beauty. It's a gift! A blessing! Not all people can get something like that so just be glad that you are given a better gift than others. It's their fault that they only fall for looks. Most guys are like that. They only go for beautiful girls so that they can have something to boast off. It's like they're using girls like a Gundam action figure and showing it off to everyone. What idiots. So don't worry about it okay? You're fine as you are." Arisa said while trying to comfort Kuromi then she pointed her thumb at herself, "Don't worry! As long as you're with me, you're safe! No one can harm you! I'll make sure that! If anyone tried to hit on you again, I'll bite them to death!"

"There you go being yandere again Arisa. Stop that!" Kuromi slowly laughed and thanked Arisa.

Arisa laughed too, "Of course I'm just joking! I'm not really killing them. I'll just go teach some beating on them. I don't want you going out with just some ass."

Finally Kuromi smiled, "Again thank you Arisa for always being there for me."

"Well that's what friends are for, right?" Arisa said and then she remembered something, "By the way Kuromi, did you already join any club in our school?"

Surprised, Kuromi answered the question, "Club? No, I still don't know which club I should join. I've only seen the Classics Club, Light Music Club, Neighbors Club, Amusement Club, and Half-Priced Food Lovers Club. Oh there are also some clubs with odd names like the SO-"

Arisa interrupted Kuromi, "Kuromi stop! Don't drop references anymore. I don't remember our school had those kinds of clubs. Oh well, forget those clubs. Just join the club that I'm in."

"What club? I wonder if I'll be fine there. You know…," Kuromi is anxious in joining Arisa's club. Knowing her situation, Kuromi finds it hard to quickly join any club.

"Don't worry!" Arisa said with full confidence, "You'll be fine at our club! You will surely be safe there and you'll enjoy our activities there!"

"Uhhh are there any guys there?" Kuromi shyly asked.

"Of course there are! There are a lot of them but you don't have to worry! The guys in my club are good people! You'll be fine with them and this can also be a way for you to have some male friends," Arisa told Kuromi, "So join in our club okay? Actually from the day you transferred here, I've been already planning to make you join our club."

Kuromi was anxious, "Well I don't know about that. I'm really not sure if I should join. I don't know if I'll be really fine there…"

Arisa looked at Kuromi seriously. "Kuromi…. Don't you trust me? Sure there are guys in my club but do not worry about them! They're perfectly fine! They are very different from those idiots out there! I wouldn't recommend this to you if it's not good for you, you know? Just believe in me! Believe in me who believes in you!" Arisa pointed her thumb to herself again.

I guess she's right. I should trust Arisa. She's my best friend after all. She knows what is good for me. Kuromi's anxiety disappeared and she then smiled again, "Okay I understand now! I'll join because I trust you!"

Arisa was glad to hear Kuromi's decision. "Then it settled! Later, we'll be going there so that you can get a form to finally be an official member. Let me be the one to welcome you first! Welcome to the Photography Club!"

"Photography? You mean you take pictures?" Kuromi asked.

"No, we record videos!" Arisa answered her sarcastically, "Of course we take pictures and other things. It's just an easy job so you don't have to worry much about what you're going to do."

"O-of course you're taking pictures, my bad. I'll be looking forward to it then," Kuromi laughed at her own mistake.

"Well then, we'll go later after class so get your self ready okay?" Arisa told Kuromi. Lunchtime ended and class resumed until afternoon. A few hours passed and class is finally over.

Kuromi started to return her things to her bag and so is Arisa who is rushing. After Arisa finished returning her things, she quickly turned to Kuromi.

"Kuromi I'm sorry! I got something to do at the Student Council right now. It's a rush meeting! I promised to go with you to our club after class but I guess we can't do it today. Too bad," Arisa told Kuromi with a sad face.

"Oh no it's fine. We can still do it tomorrow okay? Just go do your work at the Student Council first. You're the president after all. You need to fulfill your duty first before anything else," Kuromi said.

"Yeah I guess we have no choice but to just have to do it tomorrow. Well then just go home for today. Be careful on your way home okay? I'll see you tomorrow Kuromi! Bye!" Arisa bid farewell then rushed out to the door and quickly went out; leaving Kuromi behind that is waving back at her.

Now then, I guess I'll be going home for today. Too bad I can't get to see the club that I'm joining in. Alright I'd better get going. Kuromi took her bag and went out of their room to go home. While she is walking in the hallway, she can sense some guys staring at her. As always, this is the atmosphere that she feels: lots of eyes looking at her. It's irritating but she had no choice but to bear with it. She wouldn't want to be showy so she's just ignoring it.

She went down the staircase and there some guys that look like a bunch of delinquents are staying around. There are four of them including the one she rejected this morning. Despite this, Kuromi kept on walking for this is the only way to get on the ground floor of their school. But before she can pass through them, the guys saw her and blocked her way.

"Hey! Hey! Look who we have here! If it isn't the famous Karasawa Kuromi of Class 4-A. You really are a pretty girl huh. Hey! I heard you rejected one of my buddy here," said the big guy that looks like the leader among them.

The guy that Kuromi rejected a while ago also started speaking. "Yeah. How dare you shame me in front of a lot of people? I'm gonna pay you back this time for what you did."

"Move it!" Kuromi shouted to them, "Leave me alone!" she continued on moving but one of the guys grabbed her hand. "Hey! Let go of me!" Kuromi shouted but the guy won't go.

"Hey if you don't like this buddy of mine, how about you become my girl instead huh? Don't I look good on you? Come on don't be shy!" the leader continues to tease Kuromi which angers her even more. She keeps on struggling but the grip is too strong that her hand can't escape. Kuromi then bit the arm of the guy who is grabbing her hand.

The guy screamed in pain, letting go of Kuromi's hand. While the chance is there, Kuromi climbed back to the staircase and ran away. The delinquents went after her. "Hey! Don't let her get away! "

Kuromi ran as fast as she could, "They're still chasing after me. Damn it! I still don't know the places around here. Arisa is also not here. Where should I go now? ARRRGGHH this isn't supposed to be an action story! Why is this happening?"

Kuromi climbed the staircase going to the third floor of the building. The four guys are still chasing after her. She kept on running to anywhere she can go until she reached the next staircase and climbed to the fourth and the last floor of the building.

Oh no! This is the last floor! Where should I go now? They're still following. LEAVE ME ALONE ALREADY! She ran and ran until she reached the end of the hallway. It' a dead end and the guys are finally coming near her.

Kuromi is now sweating hard and is already panicking. W-where should I go now? They're getting closer! She looked around and saw a door beside her. There is a room beside her. There's a room. I wonder if no one's inside. Ugh do I still need to think about that? I don't have any other choice! I'll just hide inside and contact Arisa later for help! Without second thought, she opened the door, went inside and locked the room before the four guys can reach her. The guys are knocking hard on the door trying to scare her.

"It's no use! Even if you hide there, you won't be able to get out! We'll wait here until you give up!" the leader of the four laughed devilishly. After a few seconds, the guys outside went silent, waiting for Kuromi to come out. Inside the room, Kuromi is looking outside the room from the door's window glass and she can still see the guys outside. I'm not going out even if they wait there forever. Now I think I should rest here for a while. She let out a big sigh. She then turned around to see what room she went in and she was surprised on what she saw. There are boys inside the room! There are seven of them and all of them are looking at her curiously.

"Such misfortune…"
