Chapter 21:- Insight
Eyes narrowed, the waiter reassessed Stephen. Then, with a smirk, he poured him some tea. "That is correct. You've remarkable insight, sir."
Chapter 22:- Affinity
"I'm, uh... right?" The unexpected reply took Stephen off guard.
"It seems you have a great affinity with our restaurant," the waiter said.
Chapter 23:- Him and you
The waiter went to pour Danny's tea, but was stopped. "My friend has affinity with this place?" the boy asked.
"Him and you," he responded.
Chapter 24:- Danger I
Danny glared. "I know my own. But my friend has no dealings with the paranormal." He'd be damned to let Stephen get involved. Too dangerous.
Chapter 25:- Not real?
"Wait, wait!" Stephen held up his hands. "I know people believed lots of stuff in the past, but fortune telling isn't actually real, right?"
Chapter 26:- Baffled
The silent confirmation meeting Stephen, baffled him. "You guys are serious about the fortune teller? He could actually predict the future?"
Chapter 27:- Too late
Ignoring his friend, Danny repeated, "He has no dealings with the paranormal."
"Too late," the waiter replied. "You cannot change destiny."
Chapter 28:- Foretold
"What destiny do you speak of?"
The waiter simply left to bring them a plate of fortune cookies. "Take one. Your fates have been foretold."
Chapter 29:- Two cookies
Danny took one cookie from the plate, leaving the other to Stephen. They simultaneously broke the snack open and took out the slip of paper.
Chapter 30:- Two fates
"Well?" the waiter said.
"Beware of death." Danny frowned.
"What a morbid fortune," Stephen laughed, "Mine says: Welcome into our family."
