Something that has been circling in my head for a while. This was inspired by Vietnam.
The gun cracks, let's face the facts.
We're acting like fools- using life as a tool.
The world is turning black, please listen Jack,
Please finish school- where I'd always been too cool.
You wanted to act, and mom turned her back,
The world can be cruel, and war is its fuel.
There with come a pact, and let's face the facts.
I won't live to see tomorrow, no matter what I borrow.
It was a smack, as it hacked my heart.
I was a callow; I couldn't follow.
So don't feel no sorrow, as it comes the morrow.
This is actually for my history teacher, Ms. DiPinto. It is inspired by the Veitnam War, which she likes to study.
