We Were Children

I set our picture as
My wallpaper today.
You're smiling down at me,
My head's on your shoulder,
And you're looking as angelic as ever.
Shame the crack down
The middle of the screen
Ruins it just a little.
But it is more than just a crack.
It holds, and shows, more truth
Than is perhaps necessary.
I don't need to be reminded,
Every minute of every day,
That we're breaking.
Because we are.
How ironic that the song playing
Is called "Bring On Tomorrow"
Because I know that I can't make a difference,
And that it's already too late.
