The first in a series of poems I wrote while out at Lake Argyle, Western Australia.
Western Northern Territory
The sound of waves lapping the shore
A serene sound of contentment
A moment in time to display
The connection between the mind
And the all surrounding nature
The sun a golden ball of light
Blazing red in the western sky
Watches over everything
As it quietly sets tonight
Setting the scenery alight
Rosy red bathes the countryside
In an irresistible glow
Highlighting nature's pure beauty
Such that is untouched by man
And is the reason for exploring
Darkness falls across the wide plains
Signalling the end of the day
Sending creatures into their thoughts
The plains becoming startling bare
As the daylight creatures retreat
Thanks for reading, feedback is welcome.
