I woke up to the sound of my alarm buzzing. I swatted at it a few times but it was like a fly, no matter how many times I tried to shut it up it wouldn't be quiet. I felt my anger rising and before I knew it I put all my strength into my first and in one movement the clock was finally quiet. I slowly opened my eyes to see the clock broken open and completely demolished. 'Well there goes another one…' I thought to myself with a sigh as I rolled out of bed and began my morning routine.
I walk over to my closet and pulled out my school uniform. It was a black long sleeve jacket with the schools crest on it and matching pants, it had a silver dress shirt to go with it and a red tie. I had most of the outfit on but the tie. I stood there for a few minutes just glaring at the evil thing. If I put it on I risk looking stupid… if I leave it off the dumb committee members would be after me again. Either way it was a lose - lose scenario. Not wanting to risk looking stupid I just slipped the tie in my pocket and left the house.
I walked for a few minutes until I saw the iron gates of my school up ahead of me, and then I saw an army of girls in front of the gates. My eyes went wide with shock as I listened to their screams of excitement. 'Kei, Kei' they screamed. I just glared at them with a bored look and tried my best to push past the herd of hormonal girls. When I finally managed to get to the gate one of the girls pulled me back.
"Is Prince Kei here today?!" She screamed. Her cheeks were scarlet and her face full of hope. She had on a maroon jacket with a gold crest in the shape of a rose on her chest. She was from the all-girls school next door… primrose if I recall correctly.
"Ah… Kei? Sorry… he's out of the country right now." I said with the best smile I could manage. She looked at me heartbroken and then let go of me.
"Kei's not here!" She yelled to the rest of the pack. They all exclaimed in sadness but then slowly started to disperse and go to out sister school. Once they were all out of view I let out a sigh of relief and walked into the gate hoping to make it to class before the bell rings. I barely got half way to the door when I heard someone call my name.
"Kyle!" I turned around only to be pounced on and fell to the ground. Strands of wavy silver hair fell into my red and I was met with a pair of violet eyes.
"Kyle you are my hero! You saved me back there!" The boy said and I just glared at him.
"Yeah, Yeah I'm a saint now… get off Kei." I said bluntly in a leveled tone and then pushed the silver haired prince off me.
"Jeez is that any way to treat a friend?!" He said with a pout on his face as I dusted off my pants. I looked at him from the corner of my eye and then another sigh escaped my lips.
"Yeah sorry… here" I said as I offered the boy my hand. He stared at it a moment and then took it. Once he was up on his feet again he dusted himself off also.
"Thanks!" He said with a toothy grin.
"Oh yeah yesterday was your birthday right?" He asked as we started walking to class.
"Yeah…" I said as I nodded my head, then Kei stopped dead in his tracks. I turned around to see him rummaging in his jacket pocket. I stared at him completely confused until he pulled out a small box.
"Happy Seventeenth birthday Kyle!" He exclaimed happily and then he presented a small box to me. I stared at it dazed and then took it. When I opened it I saw a leather choker with a silver pendent with the number seventeen on it. I looked up from the necklace and back over at him feeling a little confused.
"Why seventeen?" I asked curiously.
"Because I have a feeling this is going to be the start of a great year for you!" He said happily. I just stared at him for a few minutes and then a smirk came on my lips.
"Heh Yeah right!" I said as I messed up his wavy hair and then pulled him to class. When class finally ended I rushed home to get some rest before I had to go to work. When I got to my room I plopped down on my bed and was about to fall asleep when I heard a knock on the door, I grumbled for a few minutes but then decided to get up and answer it.
"Yeah?" I said in an irritated tone as I opened the door, only no one was there. I looked around but didn't see anyone anywhere near my building then I looked down and saw a basket with a large bundle in it. At first I thought it was bread but then I saw one of the bundles move. I carefully reached down and pulled away the blanket apart and what I saw next left me speechless. Inside the bundle was a pair of babies, they had bright golden hair and peach skin. Little did I know at that time that my life was about to turn upside down.
