An Unrequited Lover's Prayer

Why must this anguish befall me?
How can I know when You call me?
All that I want is to know that she's
The one You made for me

Distraught and broken, I turn to You
Only longing to know what is true

You sent her to me, God on high
Only to show me how to cry
Underneath my smile, I hide a tearing eye

Why am I so sure that I'm right?
All that I feel is Your might
Nothing else feels like Your will
Though it seems impossible

Only my faith have I now
Faith that this ends well somehow

My only wish is to scream and shout
Except I know I can't let it out

Lord, please, tell me
Oh, how can I be free?
Reveal to me Your great plan
Deliver me into Your hand
