Chapter II: May 7, 2215 Planet: Vio
Sam was across the street from the Government building in side an old abandon wear house. He was getting everything set up on his Laptop. It was so out dated but he loved it. It was much easier to use then all the holographic stuff these days.
He had everything setup so he could temporarily wipe out the local police's hardrive. So that no criminal reports where in the system from the last forty eight hours, including there's. So when the military went to check there backgrounds nothing was there. Everything went smoothly The sun was slowly rising, he hoped it warmed up soon or he'll freeze.
"Is everything ready?" Mike whispered.
"One sec...There!" he shouted. "That should give us at least thirty minutes, or more if we're lucky."
"Good." Mike said as he stood up and headed out of the warehouse.
A couple hours later...
"OK your all set. Come to this address at 0600 hours" The Recruiter said.
"Yes Sir" Said Mike,
Then they all walked out of the building.
"Wow so we are actually in the military now, this is going to be interesting." Andria said with a hint of worry in her voice.
"Ahh don't sweat it Ann, you're the type that can go through hell and come back even happier than before." Sam said with a cheerful smile across his face.
"Don't call me that..." Said Andria with a clearly pissed off look.
"Why not? What are you gonna to do to me if I do call you Ann? I'm five-Foot seven and I Can pick up 2 times your weight with ease. Trust me your not that good."
As he finished his sentence Andria had grabbed him by the throat and pinned him against a nearby tree. "I mean it. Don't. Call. Me. That" She said. As her eyes start to water she let go of him and turned around. "I'm sorry I was only joking..." He said as placed a hand on her shoulder but she simply just shrugged it off and said"Forget it."
Sam turned to Mike and gave Him a 'Get Loss' look. Mike sighed and grabbed Korra and walked off.
He looked back at Andria and started to say "Andria I'm s-
"But she cut him off. "I said forget it. I'm fine, alright?"
"Why do you always do this?"
"Do what?"
"You shut me or anyone else out when we're just trying to help you. And you wonder why we're your only friends."
She sighs and says" It's not like I try to do it Sam. It's just...I don't know. I've been hurt to many times it's hard to trust anyone when you have gone through what I have gone through."
"Just let us try to help. Okay?"
"Fine." She sighs.
"Seems like I'm not the only one that's been on edge."Korra says to Mike while they watch Sam and Andria talk.
"Who wouldn't? What we have been through these last couple of days, I'd be worried if we weren't." Mike slowly walked up to her and put his hand on her shoulder. "How are you holding up?"
She turned her head away from him. "I'm fine. There's no sense in getting upset over something you can't change." Mike was going to say something but Sam and Andria started walking toward them. 'I need to man up...God never promised us a tomorrow.' He thought.
The next morning Mike, Andria, Korra and Sam all went to the address they we're given. When they got there they saw tons of aircraft's. Mike remembers them being called Drop-ships because they were made to take troops and supplies short distance onto the ship's in space. They quickly found they're Aircraft by the number the recruiter gave them the day before. They got on it and took off fifteen-minutes later. Mike new that there was no turning back now. And you could tell everyone came to that realization, as they took off everything became quiet. No more talking, people moving in their seats...Nothing. Just silence. But before they took off he overheard someone saying how long the journey to Earth will be. At least a week, maybe 3 if the insurrectionist decided to mess shit up again.
He still didn't know how bad it has gotten. He never listens to the news because they make everything seem much worse as it really is. All he knew is that the military needed more men, and that's never a comforting thing.
